Re: Custom LEDs retro fitted to old synths (power reqs?)
I'm still kinda new at all this myself though and never done it before. First thing that jumps to mind is to whip out the schematics and see if they have lead-in resistors for each LED. Those resistors could be replaced to have lower ohms so they could pass the same current after switching LED color...

Re: Midi setup
You want to do two daisy chains. The first chain is thus: Computer>RS7000 RS7000>Sirius Sirius>Computer On the Sirius turn any 'local on' functions to off, and of course midi output note data parameter set to 'on'. So that notes aren't double triggered on the Sirius....it will receive notes from the...

Re: Jupiter 8 - cross modulation effect
Ditto on the cross mod + sync idea.
If using cross mod by itself, I like using very small amounts just to add subtle complexity to the patch.

I want to be an Andromeda. Spacy and complex. Reliable as h**l. And classy.

Re: I think my jupiter 6 is picking up radio stations?
The non-mod solution is to run the JP6 though a compressor/gate so the audio is cut when not playing.

Re: Name ONE favorite pedal (+more)
I almost picked up a RE-20 locally for ca $120, but decided I want to save up for other gear instead.. then I passed up an RT-20 for around $70.. damn those two would probably sound VERY nice chained :D They sound great together! I used them on vocals for a friend's cover of the Beatles "Tomorrow N...

Re: waldorf edition software thoughts
I have PPG Wave 2.V (the original Steinberg issue). Recently had my first chance to mess with an EVU and made me appreciate how spot-on the plug-in version was.

Re: Keyboards come crashing to the floor!
These things are great for stacking synths.
Getting castors for them, even better.
They can hold a shitload.

Korg Delta: You make 'cheesy' sound balls-out hella-fun.
Korg PolySix: Today we are serving thick delicious cuts of our juicy pad ensemble sounds with a side of phaser mayhem.
Roland Juno-106: You're like a cheap date: easy, breezy, a bit sleazy - and I love ya just the same.

Re: FXpansion DCAM Synth Squad Review
Not sure why FXpansion is throwing their hat into an already crowded ring of software synthesizers. I see this DCAM is kind of a unique idea. But not all that impressed. The Amber - string synthesizer emulation looks/sounds interesting. But there are free programs out there that sound decent. I know...

Re: Anyone know what kind of synth was used in this...
I'm listening to this on laptop speakers. Sounds like a Rhodes or similar electric piano. The TX81Z should have some EP sounds, although they probably sound more like 80's R&B pop stuff. It would be a starting point to tweak those presets to your liking.

Re: msq-700 vs mmt-8
One limitation of the MMT-8 is the stock internal memory. If you plan to load it up with a lot of tracks it's going to fill up quick. My workaround is to make use of my on-board synth sequencer to reduce the note load. Someday I'm going to do the memory upgrade to my MMT-8. But I've loved using it.

Re: my p6 does strange things?
The battery doesn't have to leak to be trouble. As the elements break down they will oxidize the battery traces first. The oxidation will begin to spread around the traces if left alone. It looks like a greenish bloom on the surface of the traces and battery leads. Look close under good light and a ...
