Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
GC has updated the status to 'Available In Stores'. I haven't gotten any email updates yet as they promised. Perhaps shipments are only starting to arrive at their main warehouse?

Re: Hartmann Neuron VS, Intel Mac -- Free
So are the kb+nuke ebay prices going to burst? Thank God I sold my nuke back in '10, the main issue I could see was maybe becoming obsolete w/ new operating systems. Neuron is great for vamping samples, breathe new life from old sounds.

Re: Request an analog on Roland's Facebook page!
Seems to me the Roland raison d'etre has always been to provide real world flute, trumpet, sax, string and piano sounds. Late 70s and early 80s technology meant you had to do analog to get there. For them reps have openly admitted, even most recently, with respect to that bygone era as a failure to ...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
Shame on them
Sometimes the factory has to deal w/ shortages in components that may be on back order themselves. I still conceive the day is coming the mini will be falling off trees littered everywhere like microkorgs. And we will be sick of seeing them.

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
Are we really talking about a niche market for only a select few? Or are we looking at a pure unadulterated MS-20 craze? Modern factory production methods currently being blown to bits by a staggering worldwide demand . Interest in vintage synths has steadily risen over the past 12 years I've seen. ...

Re: Alesis MMT8 question
I used to have one but sold it. I referred mmt8.com FAQ section at that time, as again now. Turns out 1A (1000mA) is what it needs. The adapter recommended supplies a stepped down AC current to the unit, which is why mmt8.com recommends a specific LINE-6 brand adapter. They go on to say an adapter t...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
I believe the MS-20 Mini is an urban myth. It doesn't exist at all really. All the videos I see out there must be hoaxes, photos are all photoshopped, all the sounds probably coming from an iPad. Or so this is the logic I use to make the long a*s wait more enduring. That and mucking about with the f...

Re: Evil Poly Pad Machine
My first thought was Ensoniq ESQ-1 or SQ80. Akai AX60 can give some nice saturated edge. Alesis Andromeda has the capability to produce quite alot of bite. I'd venture to guess the Poly-Evolver could sound pretty mean. Yeah, you seek AX-60 I think. You also might check out a VSE'er Jexus who has a ...

Re: PSB West End Girls
Do the disks have any official band logos? Many moons ago my former synth tech was telling me a story about how Depeche Mode came thru town on tour, he fixed up some of their gear, and was given a few of their sampler diskettes. They had official band logos he said, but unfortunately they were forma...

Re: PSB West End Girls
I was halfway expecting the samples of street noises and pads/strings. Or maybe the choir sound or trumpet at the break. If indeed these are the source sounds for drums or bass then it reveals all the work the mixing engineer has done to widen and fatten things up in the final mix.

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
Nick Batt did a great job in the 2nd interview asking all the pertinent questions. Of which it was interesting to see the designers were tempted to creep some new features but stuck to their original mission to remake something true to the original that is affordable.

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
That interview video really put a big grin on my face. Their passion after all these years, attention to detail, and the the little sound demo at the end. Great stuff. I remember the 13600 chip was also used in the Delta (which I sold ), that chip had a nice smooth quality to it but could also be tu...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
Have any of you seen this unboxing video? http://youtu.be/R_koht6K3xM I think posting unboxings are extremely nerdy (I know I'm not winning any friends here saying that)... but the first thing he does at the end is go fetch his original MS-20 and put them side-by-side. How many people ordering the n...
