Polysix tactile switch caps, narrow w/ LED
EDIT: I've got some on the way now. I'm hard up for two ivory ones. I looked in Mouser, Digikey they're all the wrong size. Vintage planet is out. The SCI Prophet 5 uses a different size too. If you have two laying around your shop I'd sure like to buy a couple. Thanks! http://tubbutec.de/wordpress/...

The easy fix
So I was in a secondhand store today telling a guy I do some service on vintage synthesizers. So we walked over to his E-mu E4K synth/sampler with no sound output. Turns on fine, Synth ROM loads fine. I go into the menus and switch the output type from AES to analog. Then take it out of multimode (f...

Re: Depeche Mode samples
According to my old synth tech, DM is notorious for protecting their samples from circulation. My old tech also told me he worked on some of their gear in Dallas when they rolled through town on tour. They had some floppies with the DM logos all over them, and he asked if he could have some and they...

Juno-106 Rejuvenating Wave Generator Chips
First I apologize this is a new topic post since my reply to the 'juno 106' thread didn't get any replies. EDIT: I'm rejuvenating MC55134 chips, the Wave Generator chips, with the acetone wash method. Similar to the 80017A chips, the Wave Gen chips are also encased in this mysterious black resin stu...
Re: Juno 106
The video describing snapping the pins should never be done! I know de-soldering them is extremely tricky without the right tools, but save these old chips. If nothing else they can be sold on ebay or something.

Re: selling a synth you planned to re-purchase
I'm just now on to my third Polysix. After I sold one and my Delta last year I quickly realized I didn't have a Korg in my setup. This PS-6 will stay this time. And I'm also on my 3rd and 4th Juno-106. I am currently refurbishing voice chips in both and will sell one of them and keep the other this ...

Re: Matrix 6R is mono or stereo???
+1 only mono when not in split mode per the manual. I have the keyboard version and it is that way. I, too, thought something was wrong when I first got it.

A most under-rated synth, you've done it some justice.

Re: stange jp-8000 start up behaviour
I know it sounds really simple but my last JP-8000 had audio crackling issues due to the big ground plane wire coming loose.

Lowrey V-120 String Ensemble!
Just picked it up for $50: the Lowrey V-120 Micro Genie. The info on the internet is f*ck all. Without access to the schematics - I'm guessing it's a ROM-pler. But I dunno. Never in a million years would I have thought to check into this instrument except I remember playing my friend's when I was in...

I'll endorse MrRay73. It's free! And it can sound so much like the original.

Re: Roland VP-330 Human Voice Filter
Hmmm. Let's see about that. At least I could make my schematics (taken directly from the VP schematics but parts numbered a little differently), BOM, and PCB layout available sometime. ;) Here are some photos of the filter clone. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p121/the_garranimal/VP-330%20Human%...

Re: Roland VP-330 Human Voice Filter
No, the parts for the Human Voice filter section are all still available, the IC's are 4558's. As far as the BA662s, I didn't add the string filter to my clone so dealing with that IC wasn't necessary.schmidtc wrote:That sounds great! Did you adapt the circuit at all? Did you sub anything for the BA662?

Re: Roland VP-330 Human Voice Filter + Triple Chorus
But it's still sitting un-assembled, because I need to figure out an enclosure, and work out how to set it up to work from a wall-wart (as a DIY novice, I cower in fear of anything that involves mains power ;) ). For the Triple Chorus, when I was putting together my parts the 18V AC wall wart trans...

When you say "40 banks" perhaps you mean 40 patches = 4 banks of 10 patches?
