Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!

Holy c**p someone here PLEASE buy this! Only $1500, and you could have the power of Casio in your mix...it's a really good deal because of the stand being thrown in, but I just don't have that kinda money right now. http://images.craigslist.org/3p73o23la5V55U45X3a9g43bacbee7a021138.jpg Seriously? As much as they like to rip consumers off (personal view, don't blast me!) - they probably would suck you off, BUT it'll be $12,995 without hands....$13,455 with hands, and for an extra $499 you can upgrade to someone with a tongue ring.

Re: Looking at Virus Indigo 2 or Radias?

I have an Indigo 2 and loooooooove it. Two filters, ring mod, effects (including some very awesome distortions), and FM modulation allow for some very interesting sounds. It can be extremely rich, or very soft and easy going. It has some of the best bass sounds I've created in quite awhile. I would ...

Re: Have I lost my sense of humour?

I can understand the prophet 600 due to it being rarer Huh, I've never thought of them as rare. They seem to come up for sale pretty regularly in the U.S., but maybe not as many made it overseas. Glad I snagged mine for $400 a few years ago when almost nobody was very psyched on them yet. :D You ca...

Re: free pedalboard for those tiny danelectros

something as simple as a drive tone i doubt many would consider much of a secret. if it's soundtrack work, he's most likely not receiving much appreciation beyond who he's doing the work for, unless it's for something big. wouldn't be surprised if he'd be happy to hear someone's enjoying his work a...

Re: free pedalboard for those tiny danelectros

:P well you'd be best off trying to find photos of his setup then. helps a ton. You are correct about this - BUT Gianni Rossi does not perform live. Steve Moore, who is Gianni Rossi, performs live...but not with guitar...synths only. Gianni Rossi is his alias he created for working on soundtracks. ...

Re: free pedalboard for those tiny danelectros

doubt anyone would be able to name what's being used. tougher w/ guitars & effects than w/ straight up synths. guitar, amp, whatever effects, mic, pre etc etc. also that guy has the synth way too blasting in that mix. if you're looking to dial up a certain gain/distortion/fuzz/whatever w/o spending...

Re: free pedalboard for those tiny danelectros

While you guys are discussing cheap fuzz or od pedals - I'm going to throw in a cheap question that I've been curious about...Anyone able to tell me by ear what this guy is using for distortion on his guitar? Soundcloud example #1 Soundcloud Example #2 I love the vintagey/compressed sound to it, its...

Re: Recording Synths in Mono VS. Stereo

The big problem with stereo is it can clutter a mix. Too many wide sounds make for a confusing soundstage. What sounds good in mono? Bass. Putting the bass dead center in a mix makes it the strongest it can be. Widening it thins it out. What sounds good in stereo? Drum kits . Just don't pan it too ...

Re: Moog Voyager XL

I just wonder if everyone on here would say the same kind of stuff, if Moog released a new Modular system for say $10,000, when you know you could purchase a dot com, COTK, Moon or MOTM system for way less. IF I ever had ten grand to spend on a modular to begin with - I'd go for a custom built Buch...

Re: Moog Voyager XL

f**k me, 5 grand for a mono? I guess if you're in Mush's spot where it makes sense to have it all in one box due to cramped recording conditions...but other than that, goddamn thats pricey! I'll just stick with building my dotcom modular and pay as I go. A rackable phatty would be pretty nice though...

Re: What piece of gear got your mojo back?

I was desperately bored with the few synths I had about a year ago, and just decided its time to buy a new one...but I wasn't into anything I found at the nearest guitar center...so I watched some videos, read a few reviews here and there...and finally just decided to jump on the Prophet '08 without...
