Project Studio Help & Frustrations With Onboard Arpeggiators
So, I'm FINALLY getting around to setting up my little analog/midi cassette project studio and have been learning the ins and outs of programming sequencing, syncing, workflow and signalflow... I have the following items set up and interfaced in some fashion: Akai AX-60 SCI Prophet 600 Roland TR-707...

Re: New DSI Mopho 4 Voice Synth Announced
They swore up and down they weren't doing a Tetra keyboard... but this is kinda a Tetra keyboard, no?
I don't understand why they didn't just drop a Terta under the hood of a 4-octave board.
And yeah... the color and logo sucks.
A Six-Trak and a Tetra might be a better option for $1300

Re: Advise on cheap way to play computer samples live
Boss SP-202 or SP-303?
they're cheap I think. I used to use them in my live band. We would use them for sampled drums and ambient loops.

Re: Converter for US Akai AX 60
I'm away on vacation... but I have this synth and the repair manual. I think there are tabs on the transformer that can be swapped for 220v use. It should be as easy as swapping those PLUS using an adaptor plug or swapping out the AC cord. I'll be back this weekend... maybe send me a PM to remind me...

Re: New Studio Mic and Preamp
Beyer 88 and 201 are fab mics. But the really great thing about the RE20 is the rejection is excellent. So you can leave the speakers on when overdubbing the vocal, no need for headphones. Just "point" the back of the mic at the speakers. ONly slightly more spill than you'd get with cans. Suits a l...

Re: Prophet-600 needs help, dead knobs
I had a similar issue after replacing a busted switch on mine.... check continuity on the fixed ribbon cable between the two panel boards...
Also, check cold solder joints etc.

Re: Six Trak vs AX-60
Bump!
Stack mode: Is there a way to stack say two oscillators for a 3-voice mode? Or three oscillators for 2-voice?
Can you stack the same patch for a 2-osc sound?
could you say program two patches to be similar but and octave apart so if you stack them they because a two-octave 2-osc sound?

Re: Roland RS-09
Okay to I opened up my RS-09 and am trying to spray some cleaning lube/stuff on the inside of the volume pot but I can't seem to access it. It's under a "motherboard" which I can't detatch. Please help! Pretty sure they use those plastic rivets to hold the boards in place. Do you have one of those ...

Re: New Studio Mic and Preamp
No need for multi pattern if you're only looking for a vocal mic. Not necessarily true... I enjoy figure-of-8 on vocals... Omni can be great for roomy vocals... or as a second "gated" room mic in conjunction with a cardioid (ala "Heroes"). Sometimes you don't want all the proximity-effect a cardioi...

Re: New Studio Mic and Preamp
Put all the money into the mic, the Onyx is actually pretty good. Not bad advice... Maybe use the pre budget toward a really nice LDC... maybe even a multi-pattern one. The AT4050 would be a higher-end, multi-patterned version of the 4033... or look into some of the Peluso mics. I would avoid most ...
