as for flaky pins... I've found that a light whetting with some quad-eutectic solder helps to keep the pins from corroding.
I use this stuff where vital conductivity is needed:

Re: AX60 Dis-assembly Checkmate
Yeah, pinch the tip of the stand-off with a pair of needle-nose pliers as you pull the board down. They should snap out partially one at a time. Then you can remove the lower board... The stand-offs stay in the upper board, which is held onto the chassis with screws.

Re: The Prophet 600
How tunable are the osc's on this, does it go down, aswell as up in semitones? Not exactly sure what you're asking here. The Oscillators are freely tunable, as opposed to switching between footages , if that helps. The tuning knobs have steps in tempered tuning. If you mean semitones as in "microto...

Re: analog on a budget
I recommend it again. Akai AX-60. Great, true vco analog fun with sliders for less than $400 easy.
Do a quick google search for "akai ax-60 site:craigslist.org". You should be able to find somebody willing to ship one.

Hair, did you ever sort yours out? I was wondering how modifiable the OS would be on the AX-60. Like how that guy HAWK did all that extensive work on the Poly-800... I would love to see some simple improvement on the AX-60... like how about Chord-Memory when you hold a chord and hit the Unison butto...

Re: Which Analog Drum Machines are Capable of Odd Signatures
Cool! Like could a Roland TR do this?Syn303 wrote:With 5/4 time all you are doing is adding an extra quarter note per measure, this can be done with any programmable drum machine - digital or analog.
What about 7/8? could say a 808 or 909 or whatever do this... it is in fact only one eighth-note shy of 4/4.
