You're right madtheory, of course. The Saffire Pro 40 is setup with 1/4"/XLR combo jacks: Inputs 1+2 have three impedance options: Mic/Line/Instrument. The MS-1, SU10 and SU200 are limited to stereo outs only, which I'm afraid just isn't going to cut it. I'd like a minimum of 4 outputs - even if its a set of stereo outs + 2 assignable ones (like the MPC1000).

In my experience, an mmt-8 is not as quick to use as an mpc (I have a 1000). Setting up the tracks and having to stop to quantize them bummed me out. Interesting.
