Re: Looking for a second lover

So if anything, I'd like to start with Solus oscillators thru:

LP Filter
HP Filter
Fixed Filter Bank
Envelope
Amp

From there a sequencer, noise source, mixer, etc....

I know, pretty plain-jane....

Re: Looking for a second lover

Yeah, I've checked out Muff's...definitely looks like some possibilities for used stuff there. Trying to figure out what to start with. Augmenting with modules that do things my current synths don't; i.e. - a sequencer setup for the Solus? Or focus on building a brand new synth, using the Solus as a...

Re: Spring Reverbs

I'd looooove to have any of the AKG BX's.

The Sound Workshop stuff is on my list to check out as well.

Most recently, I've been reading up on the Quad Eight RV-10 - any experiences with that one?

 THIS guy!

Let's see...average price for average condition 2600...$7-10k. Plus fixing inevitable issues...$3-5k.

I wish.

Re: Looking for a second lover

You're right, it was the power thing, not size. Dotcom uses 15v and Mos-Lab uses 12v. COTK is variable 12v or 15v. Fairly certain Mos-Lab sells converters for integration into a Dotcom system. By the way, just did a quick cost analysis of the modular Tomita used for the 'Snowflakes Are Dancing' LP (...

Re: ARP Solus

Just messed with it a bit, both oscillators drifting from the moment it was turned on. So its not temperature related. If I can find a small screw driver around here, I'll mess with those trimpots, but I'm thinking the problem is beyond that. This much fun for less than half the price of an Odyssey?...

Re: Looking for a second lover

The Solus finally came to my door yesterday. Badass little thing. Sounds phenomenal! Unfortunately its got some major tuning issues after a couple of hours being on. We'll see what it does today, but I'm thinking it might need to get some service. Bummer, as I've finally got a musical project in my ...

Re: ARP Solus

Alright, I finally picked up a Solus! Its definitely as cool as I thought. Glad I didn't cave and go for an Axxe! Tons of subtle timbral options, a surprising amount of modulation fun, filter FM AND ring mod??? This thing rules! I recorded a bunch of it yesterday, as soon as I turned it on. However,...

Re: Spring Reverbs

You guys and your modules. I really would like to get into it, but it scares the c**p outta me. I have a enough of a problem buying/trying/selling keyboards. Tiny little modules? And there are now a zillion options out there? Just like guitar effects pedals. If I go modular, I need a solid plan. I k...

Spring Reverbs

Digital verbs have their place, but I'm looking for something a little more....primitive. I have a Space Echo (RE-201) which provides not only the best delay sound known to man, but a simple spring reverb sound as well. Its cool, but no controls other than eq and mix level. So, I thought I'd look ar...
