Re: A bit of Switched on Action

YES! Nice work. This sort of thing is where I'd like to see my own work headed!

Are these reinterpretations of the original scores (not familiar with these movies) or completely original?

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

Nice call on Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Micke - I haven't listened to that one yet! Just ordered a copy ;) And excellent choice in additions to your collection - I've been waiting for a copy of Xtro (vinyl) to show up for sale on Discogs. The Boogey Man as well. Surf Nazi's must die is an excel...

Re: Electronic Albums of the 50's + 60's

I came across this while reading up on Delia Derbyshire (delia-derbyshire.org) "By the mid 1970s Derbyshire was disillusioned by the apparent future of electronic music and withdrew from the medium. In the musical dark ages to follow, she worked in a bookshop, an art gallery and a museum. In the mid...

interesting - thanks vicd! I listened to the entire thing on youtube this morning, and I gotta say, its pretty impressive. Right up there with some of the lush-er works of Tomita. I just ordered a copy from Discogs. :)

Sorry for derailing the thread a bit!

This one reminded me of the renditions of classics on EMS SYNTHI-100 (the whole LP deserves a listening, but especially the Debussy ones):

More info on this LP please!

Swayze - if you want to start with the avant-garde side of things....check out the 'Electronic Music of the 50's+60's thread happening in this forum!

I'm falling deep into the youtube/discogs rabbit hole as a result! And its not all serialism....there's tonal bliss to be discovered as well!

Re: Looking for a second lover

excellent notion, moremagic. So I just purchased a Solus....which, by the way, was priced less than half of what Odysseys go for. I'm sure I still paid more than I could have, but these things don't float around too often. Which is even cooler. If I recall from my Solus thread a few months ago, shaf...

Re: Looking for a second lover

Thanks for the replies so far guys! I've had a Pro One. It was cool. I wasn't super wild about it though. It's like once you go Prophet 5, everything else Sequential is...meh. Although the P600 was super cool. I have been thinking about that one again. Either of those Rolands (SH-5/7) would be badas...

Hadn't seen/heard this one before. Howard Shore for the win!

EDIT: We've talked about it on page 35. Prophet 5 and ARP2600. Killer combo for filmmaking!

Re: Vintage Analog Mixers (small format)

Pflosi - thanks for sending me that! I can definitely hear the slight slight change to the low end and top end. Pretty much what I expected. Also, a lot cleaner (noise floor wise) than I expected. I still haven't come to any particular decision yet. I might have to go with something physically small...
