Re: anyone else like wurly/rhodes/clavinet/organ here?

Love, love, LOVE my MKII 73. It's really the centerpiece of my home setup. Synths of all kinds have come and gone, but the Rhodes sticks around. And will FOREVER. It's carcass was given to me a few years ago. Missing some tines, tone bars, keys, etc. I spent a couple of months restoring her back to ...

Software Sampler

Looking for a super basic software sampler. Something that can run standalone on a mac. I don't need to create or edit the samples, just a way to load pre-made ones and trigger from and external midi controller. Its for a theater show, so the simpler the better. And the free-er the better!

Re: You can only have one...

this question has been my life journey with this silly synthesizer thing. I like ninja's approach best: 1. Get s**t done: voyager + prophet '08 2. Oh, but vintage is sooo much better: model d + jupiter 6 3. Probably the smartest move: invest the money in musical education; study composition, piano, ...

Re: Reengineering the Moog Source User Interface

thanks mang....I know I'll solve the riddle, its just a matter of when. I've been without a working synth for at least a month or so now! Well I guess the Opus 3 is mostly fine - its just at the studio for now, waiting for my pal to recap it. another fun pic: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7414/13245...

Re: Reengineering the Moog Source User Interface

So here's the spaghetti mess that is my wiring job for the back panel: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7171/13243759283_dc96d5f728.jpg And here's the new wiring coming from the ribbon connector board: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7355/13243603355_4148171bd8.jpg I put the whole thing back together and...

Re: Poly Evolver vs Prophet 12

I've been seeing them for sale "new" repeatedly at around $2300 on ebay. If I had the need/more desire, I would have no problem with it at that price. I also feel like this is probably going to sound better than the PEK for even basic analog sounds--the major crutch on all prior DSI stuff was the t...

Re: Poly Evolver vs Prophet 12

Yeah, from demos I'm hearing, I don't think the DSP vs analog oscillators is going to be a big deal. Besides a board like this is for out there, not-necessarily-found-in-analog land sounds. The only bummer about the P12 is that price point....I have a hard enough time justifying $2k on a synth purch...

Re: SOFTWARE REVOLUTION

I definitely mess with both.

I'm really inspired and satisfied when I'm playing with hardware.

I can be really productive and efficient with software, but who wants to be productive and efficient at making music? Sounds like a job to me :D

Its incredible to think we'll never ever hear one. I mean, didn't they have youtube demos in the 1890's?
