Re: Triggering via the Linndrum

Ok, thats kind of what I thought. New question: is a 'clock' signal different from a 1v/oct gate/trigger?

Re: New album!

Album info: I started this project in March of 2011. I'm a huge fan of anything related to space and science fiction. I'm also a huge fan of weird, groovy music. I listen to a lot of different kinds of music, but have a special affliction towards movie scores, especially those that were created betw...

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

baah it isn't released in the US until next Tuesday!

It really is a great score though. I think what I like about it the most is the heavy use of piano. Piano and synthesizers = magic!

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

Micke - there's a 2 cd set of The Fog now? I just scored a copy of the original soundtrack on vinyl - absolutely deeelicious!

Now I'm going to have to hunt down this double disc!

Triggering via the Linndrum

The 'trigger output' of my Linndrum is currently clocking my Pro One's arp/sequencer. Before I had the Pro One, it was clocking the arp of my Jupiter 6. I really want to run both! I tried running the JP6 utilizing the cowbell trigger method, but it wouldn't consistently trigger. I also tried the 'sy...

New album!

Hey folks, the album I've been working on for a year and a half is finally finished! I'm still working on artwork for the 'official' release, but here's the music. Not sure how to embed a 'set' properly (not the most savvy with this stuff), but here's the link: http://soundcloud.com/nathaniel-johnso...

Meh....I'm not impressed. They should have used that Drokk album!

...and if I read one more youtube comment that tries to relate this Morgan soundtrack to ANYTHING of John Carpenter's, I'm going to vomit...

Re: What synth have you bought more than once?

Prophet 08 PE x3 - kept buying it because of connectivity, stability and overall convenience. BUT, at the end of the day I just do. not. like. the. sound/tonality. I will NOT buy it again! Voyager OS x2 - Let it go during a 'f**k analog, the computer is where its at!' moment - rebought it a few mont...

Re: DSI Tempest's impressions?

I had one for a while. Its certainly the most powerful beat making machine I've ever laid my hands on, but I actually wasn't in love with the overall sound/tonality of the piece - or the loading/saving beats process! So I sold it....

Re: Nord Electro 3/4D vs. Hammond SK1 vs. Korg SV1

Speaking only from owning an Electro 2 and 3 - Nord absolutely OWNS. Super lightweight, reliable, stupid easy to use, and definitely fantastic sounding. I toured a bunch with one, sometimes in a flight case, sometimes in a bag - ZERO complaints. The past year I've just been using it exclusively in t...

Re: Dotcom Modular

Yeah, I get that its going to take a lot cash to build something more flexible. I get that its going to be a different learning curve and overall different experience than what I'm used to, and to what alternative options out there may be. But therein lies the point of my quest - haven't done it, go...
