Re: Korg MS 20 Made in Germany ?!

MS-20s for the US market had badges in English, not Japanese. That doesn't mean they were made in an English-speaking country. Yeah, this actually makes a lot of sense. Don't know why I'd automatically assume they were all badged in English. I suppose because all the ones I have seen had english. T...

Re: Help me choose my synth rig!

If I were you I'd be checking out the Nord Wave too. You can easily find an MS20 mini down the road for $100 less than they are now.

Couldn't you use midi/cv converters for syncing ? This is why I don't f**k with digital stuff or with having s**t synced ! :P

Re: VSE 2014 Song Contest Theme

On doing the contests more often, I did try and get one going a while back but it didn't accumulate much interest. It seems more people are up for it now. As far as the software deal, that's a no because the definition of hybrid for the sake of this contest means it must have analog filters. Using ...

Re: VSE 2014 Song Contest Theme

We should start having quarterly contests. I know it usually has just been about once a year on a whim, but it might be neat to start doing one for each season. Perhaps the season could be tied in as a theme. i,e leaves falling for autumn or a rainy day for spring.

Re: Logic X update - nice new Eq's + more

They're not actually new EQs though are they? They just reskinned the old ones. Read what I wrote " but the new re designed eq's look pretty amazing " re designed doesn't mean new although i missed out the r e designed in my last sentence ;-) "Here's the new eq's" Still they're more pleasing on the...

Nick, I had the same trouble dl'ing the additional content. Luckily it knew that it had already started...

Re: Modern Analog Synth Comp VOTE HERE!

WOW. Some really good entries. I NEVER knew a MoPho could sound that way. On number 5 I was just waiting to hear the vocals of Ladytron. Totally sounds like it could have come off Light & Magic.

Re: Roland S760 as ghetto ADC

When did mac stop supplying the in/out ?! The 2009-2011 models had a combined port for sure, don't know after that. I was about to post that they're combined, but I guess I'm wrong now. But honestly, they weren't that good. Also- what's up with all the judgment lately and people assuming what other ...

Re: Questions about setting up first midi controller

If this is going to be your only board, I would suggest looking at something with at least three octaves. Looks like the minilab is only 25 keys. Check out the akai mpk49, they can be had for $150 used and also have pads so you could do drum stuff as well. There should be software with whatever keyb...

Re: How do you get over the feeling of wanting to try so man

Buy & sell, buy & sell. I started with just a microkorg and a few guitars when I was a teen and kept flipping stuff to buy more expensive gear to try... I also sampled a lot of it. Seems like some stuff is taking another dip in prices. You can get an MS20 for a grand if you persist. They were twice ...

Re: iPad audio interface, looping sequencer, and audio edito

Get Beatmaker 2 and the new Apogee Duet or One that work with the iPad. Both have two channels in. You won't be disappointed as I have worked extensively with this setup.
