Actually, "very good" is an understatement. This is better than alot of cds that i've bought.

Open Fruity Loops at the same time as DX manager, make sure they're both sending to the TX, and have your controller keys routed into Fruity Loops, which should then send any key on/off data etc. back out to the TX. I actually was thinking of using a tape recorder that I have that has a mic input and chopping samples in Edison. If you really wanted to get "old school" you could manually slow the tape in its playback with a pencil or fingernail (carefully) to create some interesting sounds/dirt. Or if you really...

what is the keyboard that you are talking about?
Is it a usb midi controller?
If so, you can run it into your DAW and then make the DAWs output your fm synths midi input. and then hook the fm synth up to your editor like normal. If you need a DAW, there are several free ones that would work

I really don't know alot about it, but i think XP is the last DOS OS. Maybe try its compatibility settings. They seem alot better than windows 7 compatibility options. Or you could partition your hard drive and add windows 98/95, or just run it in virtual box. i dont think dosbox runs many programs ...
