Re: dead microkorg
most adapters arent rated exactly what they say they are. they may be a few volts off. it probably wouldnt ruin it to power up with at least a decently close adapter. I wouldnt use it like it that all the time though. i bet the microkorg uses a reverse polarity blocking circuit and its just not lett...

Re: Yamaha CS 30 smells funny when turned on but still works
There's a good chance it's just dust that's built up over the years heating up. It could be worth your while opening up the synth (make sure it's been unplugged and turned off for a good 24 hours before you open it) and giving it a spray with can of compressed air. After blowing the dust out put it...

thanks, and 40 hours of soldering really doesnt sound like much fun. The largest project ive done took about 20-30 hours of soldering and assembly and i thought that was bad. thanks for all the info on the 9700.

Re: Which bands use hardware synths?
Of course, if software emulations would've existed in 1987, I'm sure I wouldn't have heard the difference- And as far as I know, last year he could've been using the LP to control a software mini- Anyone know for sure? But it definitely LOOKS cooler having the Moog on stage- And looks count, right?...

Re: tired of playing the monophonic synthesizer
duophonic is only two notes at a time, so is that enough? on my polysynths, i usually like 4 or 8. 4 is enough for a chord and a bass note. if thats the kind of thing you want? and have you ever used a digital synth or virtual analog? they really dont sound bad, eventhough alot of people act like th...
