Re: Search for the dream synth...
As much as the micron is sold as a classic analog recreator, it can get harsh and dirty pretty easy I found. It should do ok for digital sounds as well as analog-ish. Its the interface that kills it though, makes it hard to live with. +1....I'm running out of patience with my Micron....I waste far ...

Re: need Help with shipping Large keyboards.
I usually go overboard with a layer of foam, then cardboard, then put that box inside another box with a layer of packing material separating them. I try to only ship large stuff when I have a lot of extra cardboard around and never throw out a box. Also dont be afraid to make your own box or cut b...

Re: Alesis Micron
I have a Micron myself....never heard of the problem myself, but I think that the volume control is shot....You can get more information here http://www.alesis.com/micron that might help. Otherwise you may need to take it to someone to get fixed.

Re: reflections on NOT having an Andromeda
With the whole current price gouging thing, I say if you waited this long to get one, why bother? 1.5 years ago?, you could get one BRAND NEW for $2k, so I laugh at anyone either buying or greedily selling theirs for 3k+, discontinued or not: it's not like they had a short run (of ten years?...

I like the Fireface 800 myself. If you have an eye on it, I'd say go for that one.

Re: reflections on NOT having an Andromeda
Agreed. My great fear (as a synth lover) is that manufactures will continue the economicly prudent course of packing more and more of the electronics into ASICs...that once out of production would cost 10000x the price of the synth to reproduce. I know some guys smarter than I are using new micropr...

Re: Novation Ultranova
It seems like it could be a pretty neat little synth, but I'm not sure if it deserves the "Nova" lineage. I guess only time will tell. For now, I think I'll stick to my Supernova II and Xio. It was mentioned in another post that the Xio sound was not good. I'll agree that the factory settings are we...

Re: Xiosynth blown?
Welcome to forum! Wish you could have joined on a happier note. I think you may have torched it. I agree with rhino (the expert) that a tech is definitely in order....Hope it is able to be fixed without a huge cost burden since the Xio isn't that expensive. I own one myself, it would be a shame if a...

Re: The Appearance of Synths
I agree with some of the people on here who said it doesn't matter how it looks, but how it sounds and what it can do. That is always the number 1 factor to me. The layout of a synth, however, can aid in the creative process. When I sit down in front of my Supernova, I find that I am more creative b...

Re: Novation Zero mk2 Vs. Behringer BCR2000
Thank you for the research. With pitchbend messages I can change the pitch on my drumtraks. A knob/slider would be useable, but a button push is what I'm hoping for. Time to dig into the manuals. I am still looking for a place somewhere near by that has them in stock so I can check out the feel. It...

Good Luck, and I hope you enjoy it!F-DurMacher wrote:All right, so the only one I can find that can be shipped to me is a Roland U-220 with an additional fx-card. The price is 115€ so I guess I'll go for it.
Thank you again, everyone, for all the information.

Re: Could you help me find a new synth? hardware, software?
The best choice would be a Kurzweil PC361. It has the best pianos from anything that isn't actually a piano, great organs, clavs etc and the Kurzweil VA-1 synth which does all your synth sounds. It has heaps of great sounding patches built in so you don't have to build them from scratch. Most of th...
