One last question, again, a very beginner question: Let's say I get the Mopho (or any synth with midi in/out) and I want the synth to synchronize with Ableton, would I be able to achieve this by having the midi out of my audio interface go into the midi in of the Mopho? Then the midi out of the Moph...

Maybe you should look into a Dave Smith Mopho Desktop Module. It is kind of like his modern day recreation/rendition of the Sequential Circuits Pro One. You get one of the new or used within your price range. You might even be able to find one of these used in the keyboard version if you want keys....
