There is no sequencer on any of those synth drums... Both will make sound if they get the right trigger: directly on the pad for the Yamaha (or from a signal), and from an external pad/through a signal for the other thing. Not sure what you are looking to do excatly...

Sorry to disagree, but there are a lot of website older than 2014 that states the battery existence on the original Poly 800 or EX-800. Even the owner's manual mentions it on page 5...

Early model mk1 Poly800's do not have a memory backup battery and so unless you keep a full set of charged batteries installed at all times the program memories will be lost when you switch the machine off.

At this point, might as well ask for a picture of the synth with today's newspaper, like in a hostage situation...
