Re: Battery leakage in any synth with patch memory?

There should be one in the Nord G2, but it usually keeps its charge for at least 10 years (some are 25yo and counting, and still in good shape). When there will be a battery problem with your synth, the display will most likely indicate "low battery". I tried to find something about the battery in t...

Re: MIDI basics

The Roland U-220 (like the Korg M3R and the Yamaha TX81Z) is cheap nowadays and a great entry level rack for a start. But to use a retrofitted Juno 60 is not the best way to learn how to use midi... Like pumping high octane gas into a K-Car from the eighties! The Juno is better as a stand alone synt...

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

Weird... A similar unit (if not the exact same one) was available on the Montreal market for a couple of weeks recently. It didn't sell while the lowest price was near $500 if I remember well.

Sorry for highjacking the thread, but I have never heard of din plugs: where do I find that?

It's nice of DSI to provide both in the original packaging and not oblige us to buy the other option separately!

Re: Prophet 12 Rack!

The link you posted presented it as a rack, so it was easy to just copy the title without thinking about it... As far as I can see, the keyboardless version of the Prophet 08 has a partially shallow "top" to help connect cables [and the possibility to choose between rack ears and wood ends], but it ...

Re: Prophet 12 Rack!

This is not a rack, but a desktop module. A rack would not have wood ends, and the outputs would be on the opposite of the front panel, instead of the top/small side like this one. It's a big difference when you try to fit it into a rack...

But it seems nice for a desktop module!

Re: Akai S5000 - Questions regarding storage.

I have a S6000 but I'm not using it. It came with a somehow big hard drive inside (8 or 10gb?), so I never bothered to look for a SCSI. I wish it had a USB drive, though... But I don't think the sampler will be much used in my studio after all, so I left it as is in a corner for now.

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

Why bring a synth to a tech, and not fix it completely before trying to sell it? Not interesting for $700... I'm selling my Roland SH 101 analog synth. It was just serviced at Omnitek, so it is tuned and in pretty good working condition--it only has an issue while using Gate + Trig mode in the envel...

For that price, I'm afraid it's only the original box... Pretty weird not to show the synth itself if it's so specially designed!

Then he edited the ad, because the original listing was $525. The other things he listed (JX3P & PG200, Oberheim DMX) was a little underpriced too, and it sold pretty fast it seems... Too many calls made him change his mind!

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!

Modified Maxi Korg for $525: no keys and 2x CV/Gate added, for an unique table top version (not really a rack)! Too bad I have nothing for CV/Gate control in my set up... http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-acheter-et-vendre-instruments-de-musique-pianos-claviers-MAXI-KORG-VINTAGE-ANALOG-RACK-SYNTH-MOD-2-X-...
