Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.
First the seller tried to off load a Juno 106 with a defective VCF on one voice at $750 (yesterday's ad), now it has morphed into a fully non-working synth for $400 firm! http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-acheter-et-vendre-instruments-de-musique-pianos-claviers-ROLAND-JUNO-106-W0QQAdIdZ533220105 EDIT: Eve...

Re: smoke smell removal in synths
Leave it outdoor on a windy day. Make sure bird can't s**t on it... Also, put tissue laundry softener (the ones that go inside the dryer with the clothes, don't know the real name in English) inside and keep it closed for a while (don't power it on!). It will absorbs a part of the present smell, and...

Re: How expensive is synth repair?
I'm telling you, the Microkorg series has a small keybed using push buttons (no spring assembly)! A screwdriver is all that's necessary, and you can't do much damage if you're already able to shave yourself or brush your teeth. You'll be very lucky if you end up paying less than $60 for this. And wh...

Re: How expensive is synth repair?
I have a Microkorg that had a sticky key when I bought it. So I just opened it up, and removed the keybed part where the culprit was located (those are not individual keys, but a bunch of 4 or 5, as far as I remmeber), and cleand off the coffee/beer residue. Only a screw/unscrew job, so you could op...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!
I just did not dare to ask, since I'm not gassing for any of those (and also quite incapable of buying any right now, exept maybe the MS-20). I can say that the other guy selling a lot of high end gear (SH-7, Polymoog, Elka Synthex, etc.) locally was also difficult to deal with. When I called and as...

I can't say it's ridiculous because there is no price listed... But seriously, who can afford all of this? http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-acheter-et-vendre-instruments-de-musique-pianos-claviers-Vintage-synth-make-me-offers-W0QQAdIdZ527017486 1-EML Electrocomp 200 2-EML Electrocomp 300 3-EML Synkey 4-M...

Re: Vintage sequencer identification
No problem! It's not very common as a stand alone unit (outside of the Roland kit), but still pretty distinctive.

Re: Careless Whisper string intro: which chords?
If you say so, I'll give it a try! I'm only used to read piano music sheets, not chords written with letters like guitar tabs: we don't use the alphabet to identify chords in French, so I'll need to decipher it...

Yeah, but I don't play guitar (this is a synth forum, just in case you forgot). Haven't you ever heard the full album version of the song?!?

Careless Whisper string intro: which chords?
I know it's cheezy, but I'd really like to know the chords to the complete strings intro of Careless Whisper... Every YT video is about the piano or the sax part! But I'd really like to learn the strings part, if anyone can help.
