Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!
I have no idea what this auction refers to, because I get this when I click the link: Unfortunately, access to this particular item has been blocked due to legal restrictions in some countries. Go figure why eBay still can't resolve this issue after a decade... I just live in goddamn Canada for Chri...

Re: Would you trade...
The fact is that there has been only one DMX for sale in my area over a long time, and it is overpriced in my eyes ($875). I was thinking about trading it for my Polysix, since it's worth about the same amount locally, because it's not used enough and taking a lot of place... But since the seller ne...

Interesting, but too pricey to be considered a toy. And I don't think pro musicians are the customers in mind...

Re: Would you trade...
That kind of ends the discussion... I'm just sad that DMX don't turn up as often as Polysix in my area: I'd really like to try one out. But I'm also not convinced I should buy one via eBay, so that speaks for itself in a way.

Re: Would you trade...
I'm really pondering the worth in money/usefulness equivalence between the 2... Of course, it always depends on what you need/want/use!

Re: What's ok to use as synth speakers?
Why not use a really nice pair of headphones? I tried it sometimes, but it always ends up with a higher level of sound that is good for the ears. It easy to end up deaf with headphones if you don't check yourself out from time to time (ask Pete Townshend about this). That's really personal, and it ...

Re: What's ok to use as synth speakers?
I meant versatile : I thought polyvalent had the same meaning in English than in French (sorry). I also use them as outdoor amps for movie screening in my backyard in the summer. Please tell me which speakers can be pinned to the ceiling only with metal hooks (Microcubes have a strap), and I'm all e...

Re: What's ok to use as synth speakers?
If you just want to play and have fun listening to the sound of the music, almost anything will do (including computer speakers, providing they don't come from the Dollar Store). I simply use some Roland's Microcube suspended from my ceiling, and it fits my needs: affordable, sturdy, polyvalent, and...

Those Moog modules have been for sale for more than a year in local ads in Montreal, but never with a price tag. Now I know why it never sold before... For the real completist!

Good point.
Maybe they thought it would be the next best thing, so no need to control it from outside nor control anything else?

And the Poly61 was later midified (factory or not). If it offered midi right away, it might have been a lot more popular...

The rack units are worth at least three time the initial amount each, and there's also a mixer! Never enough input for mixing... Would definitely take the lot if in a drivable range!

My God! It's even worse than Montreal! You poor guy, having to go through all these ads each days to harvest the few good things... But when I see this CM-64 still offered at $500, I really wonder what's up with Canadian sellers?! http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-acheter-et-vendre-instruments-de-...
