First I'd ask him $100 for cleaning the junk and fixing the power cord. Then you'd be able to try to really evaluate it...

I find the Roland U-220 and Korg M3R have great sounds for cheap (less than $100).

I'm starting to wonder how many of you who got one actually were on a waiting list? Looks like you all bypassed the legit customers who are still rightfully waiting for theirs... Just kidding, but still, I'd hate to be waiting for one I reserved months ago and read about how you got yours!

Re: Korg Poly 61 Question
You can find a lot of comments on both synths by using the search option of this forum (see top right). But to make it short, I don't think it would be a great addition to the Juno. Apart from the Poly61 having 2 dcos instead of one, it might end up in the same sound spectrum... So don't bother, unl...

Re: Fun with my Roland D5
Maybe they simply can't share exactly the same patches? Even though they're both Roland "D" synths, they might not share exactly the same inside engine, therefore can't communicate all the info between them. For more info that could help you, check the comment at the bottom of this website: http://j...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!
This seller has an account here on VSE & eBay (I can PM it if you wish, with the possible way of how he got it). We all know Roland manuals can be found free on the net, so that's why he keeps trying to unload it without much success.

Re: Need advice: Korg Poly61M or Juno 106?
I have and like both. The Juno is easier to control on the fly, but the voice chips are considered a time bomb and there's only one DCO. The Poly61M has 2 DCOs, an arpeggiator and may cost HALF the price of the 106, but its battery is also considered a time bomb and it severely lacks easy/fast param...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!
Wow. I guess I was lucky to get all my gear within the two and half past years (since Feb. '10)... Sometimes I was told by sellers that they were offered more money after my call but they sticked to the first who contacted them; not anymore. At least I got a piece of the action within that small tim...

Re: Well now I've done it - I'm a synth collector - patch he
Yeah, the handshake thing almost drove me mad once: I just could not understand why it was not working! Just in case, use both midi in/out from synth to software, to prevent the uncompleted loop... And older synths need the speed of signal transfer to be slow, otherwise, the buffer doesn't like it a...

Re: Well now I've done it - I'm a synth collector - patch he
You found a JP-8000 for $300 (or less)? Neat! MidiOX should be enough for you if you only want to save patches using midi. Just build a library for each synth [they usually can't play other's patches, maybe apart the DX line] in your computer, and it shoud be fine. You just have to figure out the wa...
