Re: Fun with my Roland D5

The synth and the software must be on the same channel (ex. 1) to communicate. Have you checked that?

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!

The thing is that I've dealt with some ads like this a couple of times in the past, and it never went anywhere. Either I didn't get a reply, or I got something like "It's worth XXX on eBay, so I won't let it go under"... Only bad experiences in my case. I guess I really was off the chart then! Why c...

Korg 770 on Kijiji, in Sherbrooke, Quebec. You can contact the seller in English, and it's a small enough synth to ship easily. I have one and it's a fantastic, rare mono: http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-acheter-et-vendre-instruments-de-musique-pianos-claviers-Korg-770-vintage-synth-analog-rare-W0QQAdI...

eBay: you can't use the * anymore in your search...

Search using the wildcard symbol (*) is no longer supported
So when you're looking for an Oberheim synth for example, you just can't put Ober* so to get all those mispelled items... I say it sucks, because it was really useful! :x

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!

Very low serial number for a Jupiter 8, but most of all, it seems that the fact they don't sell at $8K is getting on the street... ;)

Re: synth values?

The location and general state of the synths are also important to judge its value. Not that many people will bid on a rare synth located in Russia, or a dusty & rusty synth sold in the same city. You could try your luck on the "Gear for sale" section of this forum: http://www.vintagesynth.com/forum...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!

Most of the things I read can be summed up here: http://archive.cassiel.com/space/Gearhead/Oberheim+Cyclone I have read a lot more concerning their unreliability (also getting worse with the years) than their great power. But I would really like to get to try one anyway! Good thing that some don't h...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!

I see those Oberheim modules popping up on eBay a couple of times each month. But since I always only read reviews that state they are not reliable, I decided never to fork over $100 for one. Why such a bad reputation? If I could try the arpeggiator one before buying, that would help a lot...

Re: Roland JX-3p Question

As far as I know, those led-inclusive buttons are not fixable: you have to change the whole button to make it work 100%. So if it doesn't bother you not to have the led lighting on... But why aren't they lighting again? This may show some wear of the synth, so I would really prefer to test it in per...
