Re: Roland Juno 60 and CSQ-600 compatibility?
I don't think you have the right synth for what you want to do. Especially if a somehow rare midified Juno 60 fell into your lap, when you could have purchase any other old synth for less $ and already made to work with an older sequencer as the CSQ600... Please, by all means, don't replace the midi...

Re: Yamaha TX 81Z with amnesia
You could try it before unsoldering the battery, just to check if they do appear. Then you'll know if you really need the midi link to upload the original sound bank...

Re: Yamaha TX 81Z with amnesia
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it possible to get the patches back by doing a factory reset? I mean, after the new battery is installed, of course. On this great website , you can find the way to do this. Just click on the Firmware Revisions link. I've done it myself, and the sound were there wi...

Re: Hooking up synthesizers together... suggestions?
You don't need a big mixer right now, so a simple thing like the Tapco Mix series would do. It's the underdog of the Mackie Design company, and can be found easily on the second hand market for less than $100. Re: Hooking up synthesizers together... suggestions?
There is no midi converter for the Juno 6, because this synth has no built-in system to fully control it externally (pre-DCB and pre-midi built). Therefore, you'll need to install a full retro-fit midi kit if you want to play with it only using the Korg R3. But do you really need that? Just put them...

Re: Best synth for an 80s gig?
No, I'm serious. I like its sound as a mono synth, added to the idea that his primary goal is to be used as a polyphonic one. But consider the fact that I never played with a Mono/Poly, Pro-One, or any Arp synth. So saying that I like the sound of the 106 in mono mode is simply honest. For this thre...

Re: Best synth for an 80s gig?
I think the Juno 106 is great for mono leads. I haven't used much the Juno 6 like that, but it's one reason why I really like the 106: I can almost get some "Tron Legacy" sounds out if it. At least, to my ears!

I recently got a RS-09, and I didn't know beforehand it could be used that way! Very cool indeed.

Re: Akai S5000: Reboot & then smoke!
I'Ve seen that brown stuff inside many working synth or electronic gear, so I'm pretty sure it's not the cause of the problem. Always thought it was some kind of seal or isolation material. If nobody can help within a couple of day, the net thing to do might be to turn on the unit without the top so...

Well, so many buyers wrote to the lady that she raised her price to $800 (many offered more than the $500 asked to make sure they'll get it over other that answered first).
