Re: iPad vs Android tablets

Has anyone considered using a windows 8 tablet as a performance synth? I can imagine if you had a decent sized tablet you would have awesome control over softsynths like the Arturia CS 80V? Only problem is you can't make some like the CS 80 full screen can you? :?

Re: Analog question(s)

Never heard of anyone damaging a synth by leaving it on. But obviously you're increasing the ware and tare on the components, but that's the same with any electronic device. The oscillators make the tuned tone, the filter removes certain frequencies. The LFO's and the envelopes modulate or change pa...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini

I just went into a shop to get some ear plugs and they had an MS-20 mini on display. They said they had already delivered their first 50 pre-orders and were expecting more soon, but they were all preordered already. I didn't have a play on it cause I was in a bit of a rush and there was some gormle...

Re: Slim Phatty Poly-Chain

Also, as stated earlier, midi is only midi, it doesn't transmit audio. Not sure about the little phatty, but dave smith instruments has a poly chain mode, but you need a mixer so you can hear all the outputs of the modules at the same time. If the slim phatty works the same way, your going to need a...

Re: Digital piano vs synths with piano sounds

I mean, there is much in the way of rompler/vsti that makes piano sounds that sound much like a piano. I'm sure some digital pianos have good keyboards, but their sound is probably comparative to the romplers/vsti out there in likeness to a piano; maybe even worse. A real piano on the other hand, so...

Re: Digital piano vs synths with piano sounds

Like comparing apples with oranges. A synth like the esq-1 piano sounds don't really sound like a piano. They are "pianoish". Not saying at all there's anything wrong with them. Just stating the obvious... they don't sound like a piano.
