Re: 10th Anniversary Minimoog Voyager Gift
I wouldnt say it is cynical to the point of being unrealisitic. Maybe not about Moog, but that is certainly the way a lot of companies operate. Those rewards cards for gas or groceries operate on a similar principle. The amount of money the consumer saves is offset by the amount of information the c...

Re: 10th Anniversary Minimoog Voyager Gift
it migh tbe awkward ot take the entire thing apart to give you one giant a*s brass mod wheel :lol: yeah but Brass and "Taurus" somehow go together. I also think a big honking brass mod/cutoff wheel would have better feel under foot. Put the pedal to the metal and all... ah I'm too tired, somebody e...

Re: 10th Anniversary Minimoog Voyager Gift
I guess it was inevitable.
Brass=hippies
prog=hippies
prog=brass
But I am sure some collector nerd will ooh and aah as they open and close the filter.
And they will crow about the "inner detail" that the brass knob reveals.

I still want to know what is up with the name.
It's only a tiny bit different than my actual surname.

Re: Advantage of a monophonic synth?
another major difference between mono and poly synths is arps. IME only mono synths ever bother to even have arpeggiators. Since on monos you can only play one note at a time. Some genius came up with the idea of changing that one note based on whatever keys (keys MULTIPLE bitches) were being held d...

Re: I Dream of Wires
I for one can not believe they left out Nikola Tesla. You know, I can't think of a single thing that Tesla did for synthesis. And I really wanted to include him in various timelines I've done. But nope. The f**k is RIGHT OUT. HARALD BODE, on the other hand. I haven't watched IDOW yet, but in bold i...

Re: Roland should reissue the
honestly, the people that care about vintage Yamaha or even Korg for that matter is just a lot less than the legions of Roland fans. Ironically I think it is the more astute synthesists that are clamoring for re-issued stuff that doesn't have the prefix TR. I mean seriously the System 100 may be the...

Re: Roland should reissue the
Stab, I'm amazed that you of all people are actively promulgating this completely beaten-to-death topic. You'd think people would start more "When is Yamaha going to do analog?" threads. Why should they feel left out? I\m sure someone's heart's desire is a reissued CS70m with MIDI. Then again Yamah...

Re: Roland should reissue the
I'm all for the 100M modules and early SH stuff. SH-5 in particular. As for the 100M, it's the sound character. The visual aesthetics don't hurt either (I'm quite fond of that utilitarian gray). The only artists I know that have used one are Vince Clarke and Daniel Miller, and I'm not inspired by e...

Re: Waldorf Blofeld
I never had any issues with my Blofeld, strangely enough. Then again, I don't use it's LFOs in sync or use arps (I hate arps on synths). If I want stuff in sync, I'd do it via the sequencer rather the synth. It's funny I used to be the same way about arps on synths until I got my Taurus 3. But then...

Re: Question for blofeld kbd owners
I think it bears mentioning that poly aftertouch kills midi bandwidth. Dont count on doing anything fast or with extra CCs.
