Re: What are your favorite type of synth sounds?

Maybe I'm square, but I do prefer some pulse width at 40-ish% detuned to the 2nd osc pulse width at about 60-ish%.

Slow triangle filter sweeps are sweet too.

I guess I am really f**k boring when it comes to my synth sounds

You need five voices to really play "jump" right with the octaved bass notes.

Do people actually at all care about the form over the functionality when it comes to a synth that came as ugly as the 303 anyway?

Re: What to do with a vintage synth studio (Not a music guy)

Ebay would appear to be the best route to go down IMO. You eliminate the risk of being ripped off by some profiteering opportunist and so long as you state no responsibility for damages and pack the items with extreme considerations, it is a safe and fair avenue to sell gear on. no offense, but tha...

flipping it would be impossible at that price, but from a money starved player's perspective it might be just the thing. Though 100 is closer to what it "should" be

Re: Suggestions for a CV/MIDI + SH-101 setup

Except for what youve mentioned and analog sequencers, there isnt all that much. I use Future Retro Orb's, but that is only for sequencing. They do have both CV and MIDI though. The new Electron Box is going to be way up your ally because it will have CV compatibility(I am also considering getting t...

Re: Suggestions for a CV/MIDI + SH-101 setup

There are tons of MIDI to CV converters easily available, some are cheap too. I have one I will give you for 20 bucks. Also, CV is a great control method, not as versatile but whatever. If it helps, think as gate as "note on" and Cv as "pitch control." You can also use the Gate in just to trigger th...

Re: To 2013 and Beyond!

A FR style analog drum machine might make retire the 808. A couple of years ago, he was selling off a bunch of drum synths (I bought a TechStar from him), so I figured he was buying up drum synths to check on their inner workings for a FR analog drum box.
