Re: Akai Analog Drum Machine
More hype Dump the samplers, get out the square waves At least this guy understands backbeats ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JU7451I9418&feature=youtu.be You see, most blokes, you know, will be just playing a square wave. Where can you go from there? Where? Well, I had these two saw waves...then...

What Synth has the most Mojo?
So...what synth that you have played have you just sort of "melded" with very quickly? What's been the most intuitive instrument that has given you a more-than-aesthetic experience, where you feel that the instrument is just an extension of yourself? For me, it's the Jupiter 6 , though to be fair, I...

Re: Best synth under £100
+1 on that. I nabbed one for $100 that had two very valuable carts with it, and one for $20 that had european voltage and included 6 carts. I consider myself lucky. I sold both of them later, but I regret it.EmptySet wrote:There's a lot of good Ensoniq machines that go for cheap these days.

Re: Best synth under £100
Hey, got a really tight budget at Xmas cos I'm gonna get an MC 303 but I want another synth Any suggestions for a synth under £100?? Used Casio CZ-101 (or CZ-1000, but I prefer the 101 because the membrane buttons tend to die on the 1000). They're the same synth, the 1000 has full size keys. Or... ...

Re: sh 101 over juno 60 bass would you.
I have pretty much the same dilemma. I have the Ju60 and I love its basses to death. But I play midi live and when I use Ju60 for bases I use it for basses only, and it's like to have Ju60 only for that bass sounds and it's a shame because It can do so much more. So I was also wondering, maybe I sh...

Nice tune. Feels very 1982 or so. That's one of the best compliments I can give.

Re: Ensoniq ESQ-1
Best bet for learning the sequencer is finding the manual online and reading it, and also looking up tutorial videos if any exist. Ensoniq made very useful, readable (and even slightly humorous) manuals for their products, at least during that era. As far as samples go, the ESQ-1 is a synthesizer, n...

I meant that in the best possible way. As in, "delightfully eccentric".silikon wrote:If you think he's a little insane now (which, he's certainly not), you'll probably have even more a feeling of walking into the nutter ward after going there.

This man is clearly a genius. And clearly insane.
Anyone have a PlumButter? Reading the description is as fun as I imagine playing it would be. I especially like the poems sprinkled throughout the page.

Re: The Crumar GDS Restoration Blog...
As I started tracing where on earth this data line was ending up I noticed that a via that jumps the track to the other side of the board was sitting in a pool of ancient solder flux directly next to the pad of decoupling capacitor sitting on the 5 Volt rail. I have experienced some very curious fa...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!
At this point, might as well ask for a picture of the synth with today's newspaper, like in a hostage situation... ;) This guy just gets dumber. He knows I'm in MA, and he posted essentially the same posting on the Boston CL, this time at $1300. He's since taken it down, though. I can't find it. I ...

Re: Which Synth Survives the Flames! Round 1
The MPC would likely be the last one to die since I'd use it to sample my desperate cries for help, and the sound of me bashing my head against the icy walls for amusement; Need interesting drum samples somehow. Oooh--how can I get that sample set? Can I burn some PROMs of them for my DrumTraks? I ...

http://burlington.craigslist.org/msg/4693230803.html Dude posting a JP-8 in great condition for $1900. It's on the Burlington, VT craigslist, but not on the Plattsburgh, NY CL, where he says he is. I've gone back and forth with him for almost 24 hours. Too many red flags for me, but might be legit....
