Re: Synthesist Deathmatch round 3

They've killed Granny Wendy! Rest in peace with your four DKI Synergies... Now it's down to two very different masters. Pop vs. Epic Futurism. JMJ is only a shadow of the epicicity of Vangelis. I want to see Vangelis win, but at the last second, John Carpenter will come out of nowhere a spaceship an...

Re: Synthesist Deathmatch round 2

Dammit...I had to throw JMJ under the bus. And after I finally listened to Oxygene... Hmm...for me that leaves Carlos, Clarke, Papathanassiou and Dolby... Unfortunately Dolby must die. If it comes down to it. I don't know of any sane synth enthusiast (hmm) who would knock Carlos for being boring if ...

Yanni always dies. Always. What a wasted wall of synths.

what's your favorite MPC?

hope this isn't an overpost Who here has an MPC and is really satisfied with it? Which model, and why do you like it? What music do you make with it? Is the 60 really the best, as some claim? What about the 2000/2000XL? Or more recent models? I know they are well known as hip-hop machines, but I'm ...

Re: Anyone here burned out on modern analog?

And they're certainly not here to not talk about anything because everything is up to whatever anyone wants. Okay, my head hurts now that AG and Stabby are going at it... but as StepLogik said in response to the OP, "NOPE" =D> But in all seriousness...my microbrute and volcas sit nicely next to my ...

Re: Modulus 002 --- new synth from UK

Looks cool, but sounds pretty bland. Yeah I'd have to agree, beautiful machine no doubt, but sonically doesn't quite do it for my money. :? It's amazing how people judge a product by a few patches on an online video. Sounds powerful to me, and with a nifty output for each voice individually. I neve...

They're still in the $3500-4500 range on the used market.

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread

I sold my DJX to Walter Ego . He was nice enough to pay in advance for a local pickup! Good communication, no hassles. Recommended. I had a very pleasant exchange with MeatballFulton. The DJX was in excellent shape and he gave me a very informative and helpful demonstration and tutorial as well. Wo...

Re: GAME-CHANGING NEW SYNTHESIZER

Ooh. I picked up a 680 a couple months ago for peanuts...time to start making snarky social synth-gear oriented social commentary... but anyway, seriously funny video. part of me really wanted to hear the f3wchersynth versions of the bands in the style list though...more to come? I think "dubstep" w...

Re: Limited Edition Aluminium Voyager - 100 Worldwide

That's the two most common complaints on this forum "Roland keep coming out with new things I don't want, I wish they would just reissue their old stuff" "Moog keep reissuing their old stuff that I don't want, I wish they would come out with something new" Perhaps it's just that people on VSE like ...

Re: Just played the MicroBrute , my impressions....

As someone who grew up after the easy availability of cheap analog machines, it has been a long wait for a flexible, knobby monosynth. I got a MicroBrute a couple weeks ago and I am in absolute love. I wanted something to fill the function of an SH-101, and this does what I was looking for. The rang...

Re: sh 101 over juno 60 bass would you.

If it's just between the 101 and the JN-60, I can't help you, as I don't have a 101. As for the 60, bass is great; nice and wholesome but a bit vanilla. It doesn't have a lot of bite or gristle, and not as flexible in architecture as the 101 or what I'm about to suggest. However, if you're open to o...

Two.

At some point, I plan to have a bank of four microkorgs I can use at the same time. Maybe they get a fun paint job or custom rack or something gimmicky.
