Re: What will Korg release next?
Maybe in poor taste to respond to my own last post...anyway, thought this was an interesting article and apologies if it's an overpost (saw this posted on another forum). This makes me even more optimistic about what's in store over the next few years from Korg. That Takahashi seems to be a very int...

Re: What will Korg release next?
It seems to me that Korg are now thinking, "what's possible" instead of "what's a sure thing". So...do they own patents from other companies? Didn't they buy up Sequential's Prophet VS technology and use it in the Wavestation? And who else owns what and how quickly can Korg by it up? But okay...I ge...

Re: What will Korg release next?
There's really not much else that can top what they're doing. Who could have predicted they would start reissuing OTHER COMPANIES' synths?! Roland next? I don't know if that's any more unbelievable. I think it's a big stretch to go from 'Korg are reissuing a synth from a company that's been out of ...

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey
I had been going back and forth mentally deciding between a MicroBrute and a BS II, and this announcement swings me toward the MB, since it sends sequencer through CV. I would rather sequence an Odyssey with CV than through a MIDI add-on...now I don't need to find an SH-101... Still just blinking in...

Re: What will Korg release next?
Really the only thing to top what they're doing is their next project: the Classic Monosynth Replicator (CMR). Using their proprietary shrink-ray technology, they have cloned their top engineers who worked on the original MS-20, along with engineers from other companies (the guy from ARP being only ...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!
This is the funniest 303 description I've seen: http://boston.craigslist.org/sob/msg/4334337099.html I was working on some songs today and pulled out my Roland TB-303 Bass Line for no good reason at all. I bought it back in 1982 and use it every now and again, but not much. The sound I was getting f...

Re: New stuff from Roland!
Let me clear up some confusion--there was really just a clerical error that sent Roland to NAMM this year. They were SUPPOSED to go the USITT, the lighting design industry trade show this year to premier AIRA--the new line of DJ lighting gear. The keyboards are really just props. They are demonstrat...

Re: Why do you use the Synthesizer you use most?
To qualify what I'm about to say, I'll say that I'm still learning synthesis and the art of using a 16-step sequencer to create cool-sounding patterns. So lately I've been gravitating toward simpler instruments that allow me to study some of those fundamentals more closely. With that said, I've bee...

Re: New stuff from Roland!
As far as Roland VAs go, you could do a lot worse than the JP-8K (which I don't own, but is ALL OVER the early 00s trance scene; it basically is the trance scene, supersaw and whatnot) or the SH-32 which I suppose isn't technically VA but is set up that way and has a great filter character and real ...

Re: New stuff from Roland!
Warning...meta post. This is my favorite post from the GS thread (now on page 126)... "Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?" Wow. You have to read it a few times just to comprehend that it makes so sense whatsoever. Sorry for the troll...but I think on...

Re: To the person who snapped up the Jupiter 8 for 3500
some days, the bear gets you. i happened to get the bear that day. for the record, it needs work. voice #5 is dead. the mod button is either shot, or needs an extremely thorough cleaning. the whole thing is massively out of calibration-autotune doesnt get the remaining 7 voices in tune enough to re...
