Re: New stuff from Roland!

Wow that's a lot of knobs on that keyboard thing. The whole surface is just a face of knobs and buttons and sliders. Maybe it's a modular kind of thing where you can add in units...or maybe something like Radias.

Well, the teaser is having the intended effect--I'm speculating.

The plot thickens. "hybrid boxes with analogue onboard in the hardware for kicks, snares and hats and supernatural for other sounds. This all interfaces via USB with the AIRA VST/AU daw app that houses sounds from Roland's AIRA/AXIAL sites to extend the sound palette." http://www.gearslutz.com/boar...

Re: This is not a review of the Korg Volca Keys

I'd want MIDI out for the sequencer. That's about it. But that would be really useful to me.

Re: New stuff from Roland!

If it's just a simple V/a drum machine, geared towards live use, what separates it from late 1990 's stuff like the Korg ER-1? Well, probably better modeling, and a slider per part setup for volume. It's also not a drum synth like the ER-1. Also the ER-1 only has stereo outs, not separate outs per ...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

They're already almost to 50 pages on this thread at GS. Is this more hype than the MS-20 mini last year? Seems like a lot of hype. If it's really a VA, it may not be so bad.

Will a VP-330 make an RS-09 redundant?

Well, what do you think?

I want choirs and strings. Are the RS-09 strings very different from the VP-330's? I already have the RS. It also has that organ squarewave, but I don't know that I use it that often.

Re: New stuff from Roland!

There are a whole lot of "if"s about this leaked product that make me skeptical about wanting it. It may just be a controller. The whole line may be just controllers for plugins. The teasers show it being used with a computer. With the drum machine, I don't really care if it's digital or analog, but...

Re: Oppenheimer Analysis gear

aww, Oppenheimer Analysis :( RIP Martin Lloyd Yeah it really is too bad. It's poor consolation for the grieving, but I recently got a four track EP released by Minimal Wave records. Martin Lloyd: L'amant Electronique. Great stuff, what there is of it. I think it was originally released in the early...

Re: Oppenheimer Analysis gear

Hey, I'm responding as a huge fan of Oppenheimer Analysis with a tiny clue about what they were probably using. Pretty much all their songs have a Roland flavor. Also gig pics of them from back in the day feature large Roland logos. Considering the date of their material (1980-82), I would guess the...

Now that you mention it, something new from the Dewans would be really cool, if totally unaffordable. What have they been up to lately?

I would go back ten years and get TEN Poly-800's. Then sell them to pay off my time-machine making debts.

Yeah I saw that right after he posted it. To be fair, there weren't any details on the CL post.
