Re: DX 21 vs CZ 1000

i love the DX21 - it was my first synth back in 1987... my uncle gave it to my dad - i was just 4 years old but it was a great introduction to synths - i DEFINITELY PREFER IT to the CZ line first off... it can do sounds the DX7 cannot even do... you can literally port sega genesis patches to it - s...

Roland JP-8M (JP-8 Million).

Like a JP-8K but 1000 times better. Costs $8M (and all your dignity and self-respect) and emulates the JP-8000 pretty good. COSMVVA. COSM modeling of Virtual Virtual Analog.

Re: Waldorf Rocket?

So...are the Volcas gonna kill the Rocket? Not really the same synth/features, but it's the same form factor, cheaper, with more bread and butter features (sequencer!). Why pay twice as much for a box with no keys or sequencer that can't play nice with older gear? That said, I still like the idea an...

Re: VSE 2014 Song Contest Theme

Damn. Shouldn't have sold my two ESQ-1's. Now what?

Poly-800? I know it's not really a hybrid, but it sounds like one and people are always confusing it for one...hmm...drums from the PS-800...dubious at best. Nevermind.

Re: "Wonderful Christmas Time" by Wings Synth?

The song is probably the most appalling use of a CS80 ever. I always forget just how awful that song really is until I look it up and then immediately regret doing so. Just insipid . How this could be the same Paul of the freakin' Beatles is beyond me... Glad I'm not in the minority here. I really ...

Thanks for the compliment! I'm working on more Christmas material, this time with the RS-09, MK and DR 110.

Re: "Wonderful Christmas Time" by Wings Synth?

Easily one of the most annoying and insipid songs ever recorded. What a waste of a CS-80, or P5 or whatever. What a ridiculous argument. This argument reminds me of the rich old prick who can't decide between his Mercedes 600S or his Aston Martin Vantage to drive from his garage to his mailbox and b...

Re: Tools and toys

Also, form factor wise, this may be totally OT, but I just noticed that the footprint of the Volcas is only millimeters away from the Boss DR-110. Very convenient, as they play nicely together.

Another metaphor--it's like learning to drive a car with those stupid desktop steering wheels for students. Silly at best; at worst, misleading and bad-habit forming.
