Re: jx-3p + not what to do when buying a jx-3p
Dead keys are probably the least of your worries. I'd be worried about the red and white residue on the circuit board! It looks like someone spilled something in there and then corroded a bunch of stuff. That about as technical as I can get. But if both oscillators are working, at least some of the ...

Re: Old Roland Samplers (S Series, W-30, etc)
I've got an Apple CD-150 and a AppleCD-600e and neither of them have worked with the S-550 for me.
Are you using the Panasonic with an S-760 or S-550?

Check this out for wiring info: http://machines.hyperreal.org/manufacturers/Roland/Jupiter/info/roland.DCB.txt and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Control_Bus From the Wiki page: The DCB interface was made in 2 variants, the earlier one used 20-pin sockets and cables, later switching to the 14-...

Re: Roland DCB cable
I've got one for my JP-8 - they are not very hi-tech... If you can solder, you can make one.

Re: Old Roland Samplers (S Series, W-30, etc)
My question is does anyone have a functioning Roland CD-5 unit? I've bought 2 of them and both the load/eject mechanism on them are non-functional. I've tried taking them apart to see what's up - on the first one the rubber bushings on the mechanism had fallen apart and the second one seems to be he...

Re: Favorite use of the Jupiter 8
Many bands did that to prevent free advertising for synth brands in their videos. JM Jarre still does it live too. Even the bright red Nords have no logos on them. If you get no sponsorship from Roland, why should you plaster their logos everywhere in your music videos, afterall? I figured they had...

Re: Old Roland Samplers (S Series, W-30, etc)
So there's a version 2.3 of the S-760 OS? I've only ever had the Version 2.24. Any suggestions on where to get the Version 2.3?

Re: Old Roland Samplers (S Series, W-30, etc)
I converted my S550 library to S 760 via FDD, no problems. Max, that is awesome . The manual indicated clearly that it was not possible. (If Roland early manuals ever indicate anything clearly.) I don't have nor have I ever used an S760, but I am getting one next week. If that is the case Im really...

Many of my favorites are already listed, but here's one I loved from the first time I heard it - From the video it's layered DX-7 and JP-8:
