I did the clean and lube when I had the motherboard out for the CPU upgrade. Glad I did it that way as I was able to wipe up any extra cleaner and overspray with paper towels. So yes, all the knobs were off. I used Deoxit Gold on the pots and switches. It's what had on hand. I'll see if I have a man...

I installed the MTG Pro One midi kit http://www.musictechnologiesgroup.com/ last fall and I sprayed all the pots and switches with DeOxit and it feels like new. Get the smallest Vice Grips you can find and try that. Clamp it on the screw head and gently unscrew it. It may take a few tries to get the tension right to get a good grip on the screw head.
If the doesn't do it, try an "Easy Out" type screw extractor.
