Re: #Selfie Synth
The arm leading into the corner of the frame, the too close-up view, the nose distortion from the wide angle lens used in phone cameras... all giveaways that it's a selfie.Plumpudding wrote: How would you tell, if it looks good? It's not that hard, with a good camera and a tri-pod.

Re: #Selfie Synth
I would never hire a person that submitted a selfie for any professional reason. Get someone on the street to take the photo...
That said, I have no problem with the song - the music is plain, but it's the lyrics you're supposed to be paying attention to. Kind of like most rap music...

Re: What do you want from Moog?
1971-1973 Bill Waytena bought Bob's company from him, and started making the decisions about how it would be run. Bob no longer had any input in regard to design or company direction. Everything was under Bill's control. So other than the modular systems and the Minimoog, every other vintage Moog m...

Re: Cold solder joints?
From here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soldering "Used solder contains some of the dissolved base metals and is unsuitable for reuse in making new joints. Once the solder's capacity for the base metal has been achieved it will no longer properly bond with the base metal, usually resulting in a bri...

Re: What do you want from Moog?
I lived through the 80s, and other than the Minimoog, the Source, and the Memorymoog, Moog was thought of as a synth company with bad management that other than a couple cool dinosaur products, made some pretty cheap and crappy synths.
Roland and Yamaha left Moog behind in the dust.

right, because you have to be a crazy Tea Party nut to be suspicious of fluoride and vaccines... but please, don't mind me, feel free to embrace their nuclear waste products and mysterious concoctions (that actually cause the diseases they supposedly prevent, contain cancer-causing viruses, etc.)! ...

Re: Synclavier Buying Tips
Thanks a lot for the suggestion, but I live in Canada, and have an opportunity to pick one up 20 min from my house. I'm not dying to get one, so I wouldn't order one built for me. I think the point was more if you talk to them, it might give you ideas of things to look for/vs price points. That was...

Re: Synclavier Buying Tips
Before you buy one, check with Chris and Ed. It's my understanding that Chris and Ed worked at NED back in the day.

Chris is ebay seller CJM7
They can build nearly any kind of Synclavier system you want - you could see what they would charge for a similar system.
