Me neither. I just don't need one, and I do not consider it the be-all and end-all of things.

I'm sorry I beg to differ. I know this isn't popular with most people on the internet.

Re: I'd love a Roland Boutiuqe Vocoder Plus reissue...

Are you after the vocoder section, or are you just longing for the strings and choir stuff? The Yamaha C-405/605 home organs have a Choir patch on board which could be a very good replacement for the VP-330's Human Voice section, and the strings are pretty decent as well. There's only the bulk of a ...

Re: Questions about the modular fascination

Having a modular synth is one thing -- not to make it sound as if you were a tone-deaf psycho is another.

A friend of mine has that Disco 64 thing -- an amazing one-trick pony.

I wouldn't spend a fortune on one, though.

Would be interesting what drum parts the Vermona DRM was used for, and which was the Solton.

Instant Disco.

You misspelled "nucular."

EDIT: Should probably put a winky-face after that last statement.

Re: Yet another "desert-island synths" game

If you could pick pretty much every synth that was ever made, what would you choose? I'm not sure what the point of this is. Isn't the whole 'desert island' premise usually based on the idea that you need to make some hard decisions and leave out some amazing stuff for some particular reason? Most ...

Re: PROPHET 2000 - 30 years in 2015.

I sold mine this year (purchased second-hand in 1990) since I had grown tired of its size and bulk and weight, and its dreadful user interface.

Great sound though.

Yes, it reminds us to go out and buy some gingerbread, or drink some mulled wine (blargh...).

And, of course, it reminds us to be gentle.

Re: Roland Jupiter 8 vs. Studio Electronics Omega 8

Jupiter 8 is better because it's a Jupiter 8 :keys1: And it's got keys, too. I could never warm up to keyboardless expanders. That's why I want a Two Voice. Not sure what to make of the demo above... I can't warm up to a Jupiter-8 sounding like an ARP Pro Soloist but that's probably only a psycholo...
