Re: ARP 2600 questions: patch cables / voltage
I had nearly all jacks replaced on my 2600. Now it's working quite the way it should -- sort of. Stephen Are the new jacks Tini-Jax and, if so, do you have a source for the cables? The new jacks were manufactured by Switchcraft but they were not called Tini-Jax. It was the standard 1/8" type of jac...

Re: ARP 2600 questions: patch cables / voltage
my friend is letting me borrow an ARP 2600 that hasn't been used in years. just curious, will it take normal 1/8 mini or something else? Unless it is modified,an Arp 2600 used Switchcraft Tini-jax. They are .141" and very close to the 3.5mm that euro systems use. YMMV as many users swap in 3.5mm wi...

Re: Lumina Kit for Korg Arp Odyssey
The Lumina kit is one of the ugliest and most useless modifications I have ever seen.

If there is no pressing need to sell it, keep it. Have someone overhaul it -- for you in the first place.88keez wrote: [...] Any advice on letting it go "as is" for $5000. [...]
After all, there must have been a reason that prompted you to buy *this* instrument -- and not a DX-7 -- back in the day.

Re: Yamaha CS 80
If you could bring it to a technician,i would certainly do it. A fully serviced/calibrated CS-80 might bring you 16000 euro and more. Only if it's complete with all accessories, legs, lid, pedals. Everything else you have to buy as an extra will be extra-expensive. When it's tatty, in need of an ov...

Re: CS 80
Let's say, asking prices are like this. Not sure how many actually sell for that sort of money. Asking a price is one thing, selling it for that sort of money is another. There were, for example, many ARP 2600s out there that were priced above 10,000 US$ starting price -- when one sold (with a much ...

Re: What synth is this sound from?
George Kochbek was a keen user of the Elka Synthex and the Memory Moog -- these two were part of his rig for a very long time, and even in the 1990s he would use them every now and then. Being one of Germany's more prominent studio keyboardists he would use whatever was around (GS-1 or CS80 when rec...

Re: Leaving all gear switched on, plugged into power conditi
Depending on the fuses in your house, you might blow a fuse every now and then when all stuff gets turned on at the same time, even if it's just a small rig. I had that in my flat when turning on the vac, until my landlord replaced the fuse with a bigger type. Now I'm fine.
