Re: Korg Poly-800 doesn't power on?

So it would suffice, but in the long run a higher ranked diode would be safer? Is that what I should be getting at? Or is it that you mean that the Keyboard its self may get a overdose amount of power to work in general? I can always buy another diode I just had a few of the 1N4001 around. I'm sayi...

Re: MKS 70 Keeps Restarting

Could be a loose power jack and/or short to chassis ground and/or PCB flex. It's hard to say how much to budget, although I would suspect it's an easy fix once the problem is determined. But any tech is going to charge you a certain amount to even put it on the bench, most likely, so who knows? I do...

Re: Korg Poly-800 doesn't power on?

Would a 1N4001 function as a replacement? Thank you for your time. As far as being true to the original circuit, you can answer that yourself just based on my last post and then looking up the specs for the 1N4001. But... I don't know that the original actually needed to be that high voltage, so it...

It must be nice to be surrounded by fools and/or desperate junkies :) I already have those in my own arsenal, but still envious at the sweet score!

Re: Korg Poly-800 doesn't power on?

If you're asking what the original part was, I believe it's an SR1K-2 diode. If you're looking for a replacement then I think anything rated over 1A, 600V should suffice, so... if you've got any 1N4005, 1N4006, 1N4007 or NTE116, etc. around then that would probably do the trick -- about as garden va...

SOLD: Akai S900 Service Manual (with CPU addendum!)

Have original print versions (not copies) of all three service manual pieces for the Akai S900 / ASK90: - Service Manual Booklet - Schematics (Voice PCB, PSU, Jack/Panel/Display Boards, and other minor components) - CPU Addendum The CPU addendum is the rarest, and I am unaware of any digital copy of...

Re: Kawai K3 Keys Dead?

I have to confess that your situation isn't making much sense to me at the moment. Those keys--and only those specific keys--shouldn't have died all at once like that. I feel like there should be more dead keys or some other important information is missing from what's going on. I say that because o...

Re: Roland S-330 OLED display upgrade?

I cannot find the model, which would replace the above-mentioned DM16020 size-wise. Questions: There are three concerns in this process: 1. Dimension wise (which model would fit?) 2. Which interface / BUS / protocol is Roland S-330 using? (6800, 8080 or SPI) 3. The Wiring / Pin mapping. I don't hav...

Re: Kawai K3 Keys Dead?

We need more information to give a real response: Can you identify the actual, specific keys? Starting from the lowest to the highest, like "C2, F#2, D3..." or whatever the case may be. It very well may be relevant. Also, when you say, "have been" going dead... does that mean they all die and come b...

Re: Help me pls

Just thought it was kind of funny that someone can not fathom selling anything without it's adapter yet have a massive collection of them that don't go to anything. Well, I recognize it as a phenomenon, for sure. I just don't understand the human motives/foibles behind the phenomenon. Like......

Re: Help me pls

I know some of it (maybe all of it...) is to force customers to buy THEIR adapter but if this really were the case they could be way more dickish and have uber specific interfaces (i'm looking at you Mutron III creator Well, to be fair, I'd say manufacturers/engineers generally have some kind of re...

Re: Help me pls

My approach is to use one of those multi-voltage multi-tip universal adapters that was mentioned to verify the barrel size and that the device actually works. Then I find and replace with a permanent adapter as I acquire them or discover them in my "back stock". But then again, I'm comfortable mixin...
