Re: Yamaha Reface

I would of been surprised if Yam did scaled down keys. I don't think they ever put out a synth with actual mini sized keys, have they? Not counting their porta-synth line. They do have mini-keys but they are pads or buttons not piano keys. I really like their staggered button mini-key layouts simila...

Re: Yamaha Reface

From the teaser vid it looks like something that sits on top of the keys. Maybe it pushes the keys down for you?

Re: The "Fake" PWM method

I'm a bit out of my league here, but I was thinking if you have a multi track sequencer/sampler, you can probably use a single cycle saw, and have sequenced with same notes with an inverted version on another track and just pitch it with envelope or LFO or manually to control the width or different ...

Re: Can cc midi messages be sent through an MPC 2000XL?

The midi CCs maybe, those are common and often work the same for the same common midi parms from one synth to another that has midi (you just hook them up with midi and they work together or they don't), however the SysEx messages will probably have to be sent from the MPC as a sequenced event that ...

Re: Supporting rack synths/gear?

Update. The supports I got were too long. I will have to saw them down a bit and re-bend and drill out part of it to fit. Also, I noticed they will only support holding the unit up from the under side, which most of the time will probably be fine, however, I feel like I may need to clamp the rack do...

Re: Yamaha RX11 - realtime recording in MIDI sync mode

I know what mean, they do have a pretty nice crisp yet dirty sound to them for some reason. RS7000 kind of has the same problem with always being a little muddy and less punch to it, I think something to do with combining or summing a lot of tracks to a single L&R or stereo headphone output. It soun...

Re: Yamaha RX11 - realtime recording in MIDI sync mode

Had an RX5, pretty similar I imagine, it sounded pretty decent but no fun at all considering my RS7000 had all of it's drums and much easier to use step sequencer very similar to the QYs. I don't remember being able to record realtime on it either, and I may be remembering wrong, but anyhow your QY7...

Re: Supporting rack synths/gear?

Just so happen to be in need of some support too, we sound like women with big kajongas. I've a CS6r and the thing is a massive 2U heavy and deep with only 4 bolts at the front, and on a portable rack with wheels that is going to get bumped around quite a bit. If it was staying put I think it'd be f...

You can also steal parts of other people's songs and remix them with your favorite movie quotes and say you made all 100% of it.

Re: Struggling to recreate a sound- anyone good at analysing

To me it sounds like bell sound, that has probably been pitch shifted by speeding up and slowing down (sample style) for dif notes. To synthesize a bell sound you need to do frequency modulating (FM) or Ring Modulating. You might be able to do it with your LFOs if they can go in to the inaudible ran...
