Re: Live 9 Upgrade---I Hate Computers!
I got 8 trial off their website only like a week ago. Just went back and looked on their site and seen 9 trial. Got it d/led and installing now. Looks like the prices are the same as what I was looking at a week ago, so I figure good time to upgrade and not have to pay anymore than I would have for ...

Re: Live 9 Upgrade---I Hate Computers!
I recently got the trial of version 8 and trying to sell off some gear to pay for registering it and hopefully get massive too. Do you guys know if I should stick with 8 then, or would it cost a bunch more to do 9, or even worth the trouble then? I didn't see a trial for 9 at the time, was only like...

Re: What tuning intervals with 2 oscillators?
Mainly for fine detuning on monos, having one or more slightly off gives it a richer sound, kind of like having two vocalists singing the same words. Also sometimes to have one as a sub an octave down can help thicken or fatten up the sound. Or, sometimes for phasing, FM, delays, etc. depending on t...

Re: CS1x inside the Yamaha DJX ?
Yamaha is good at hiding and keeping hidden parameters away from their synth users. What they may have also done was use the same AWM2 voice element pairings, as well as the same GM and XG tones. I have no way to confirm that or not for you, but they've used the AWM2 Tone Generator in many of their ...

Re: CS-5 vs MiniBrute vs...
MB by far. Unless you get a good deal or something special about the CS. Neither should break the bank vault, I say if you run across the CS now even for a fair price don't pass it up, save a few bucks and get the minibrute later since one should be easier to get later.

Re: Live Performance Hurdles.
^ good idea too, I started bringing a small UPS with me to gigs a while back, not sure if it conditions, but is nice to have a battery backup, I've had power bumps at shows which is extra worry-full on old analog gear, any expensive gear. Its good idea where ever you have gear hooked up really, espe...

Re: Live Performance Hurdles.
You can have more than one synth running off a single AC adapter? Old gear I'd rather sample. newer analog gear I've brought to show off but generally the majority of my stuff is coming out of my RS7000. Same with the older gear I guess when I use to bring some to shows to show off, but stopped doin...

Go to the nearest Rekall facility and tell them you want the synthnerd vacation program. They won't even need any hot babe groupy parameters and then jack in dude.

Re: In-synth stereo-ification techniques?
There is a random pan on my RS7000, kind of neat, but the strange thing I don't quite get is that the random pan can be adjusted left and right. All the way in one direction you'd think it wouldn't be random but to a degree it seems to favor that side a lot more, still not always though and when cen...

Re: Live Electro Rock Qs
Why would you need midi out on the midi metronome? You just need midi in, analog beeps out. I remember there being devices that flash to the tempo too, but would probably need to run a long midi cable for it. I mostly make my songs and patterns so I'm doing more live remixing of it, dropping tracks ...

Re: Live Electro Rock Qs
Google midi metronome too. I don't know much about them, but I'd think they make one that can be slaved to your sequencer or read just the tempo and send a click out a headphone output. Probably fairly cheap, would save a track and output channel since a lot of sequencers and gear only have left and...
