Re: Live Electro Rock Qs
Snare hits in a drum sequence are usually one of the better tempo markers to follow if that helps any.

Re: Spectralis vs. A4
Don't mean to be contradictive all the time, but the MC-505 stored its voices to voice banks. I don't know about the other MC's but that was sometimes a bit of a problem on the 505 for me. You change a voice on one pattern and if you used the same voice bank on another it screwed that one up. Once y...

Re: Arturia Minibrute vs Roland SH-2....RAW SAWTOOTH
I have a Mopho keys and a Minibrute, no SH tho so I can't say how it compares to that. I can't particularly recall just using the saw and what exactly it sounds like on the Mopho either, but the MB's is memorable from last time I used it in my mind. I do know the MB is funner to use than the Mopho a...

Re: Spectralis vs. A4
Ah nice the spectralis 2! Version one I know does vocoding, or maybe I should be saying using the inputs as a modulation source if that makes any dif, I've set it up before on it, even had to get instructions from Jorg himself on that.

Re: Spectralis vs. A4
It sounds like you are very impressed by it, which is good to hear from someone who's got one. I'm positive the synth part is really truly amazing sounding, but it is usually the drums or lack of variation in drum kits that get to me if it is supposed to be an all in one kind of box that I won't get...

Re: Spectralis vs. A4
I'm a Speckie owner too, would like to try my hands on an A4. My assumptions are the Spectralis has or can have a broader sound pallet, cause the sound fonts are basically like a sampler so that you can put any sound in it you want if what is already in it don't appeal to you. The A4 looks more imme...

Re: Analog 64 step sequencer - does such a thing exist?
Are you talking analog style programable arpeggiator that has 64 steps sequencer? I don't know of any. Otherwise my suggestions would be tb-303, or maybe a Minibrute with a QY70 and a midi cable between them to the CV out to your preferred analog synth perhaps would be the jam. Could save a few $ an...

Re: New Korgs
Don't know if they exist in real life, but those pics are CG renderings, with a little searching I'm thinking perhaps by somebody named Christof B. aka GROK 02SM. Just a guess.

Re: Triggering an OB-Xa via MIDI pedals
The PK-5A looks like it would, however I would assume the midi retro fit probably only covers note on/off and perhaps velocity of the notes? If that is the case then that pedal would be a little bit of over kill in that scenario. You might have more fun hooking that pedal up to a more modern synth t...

Re: Need to track down name of a mid-90s synth/midi controll
Yamaha CS1X? http://www.planet-groove.com/yamaha/images/cs1x.gif I think I seen one with a blue back light mod once but not 100% sure. The CS1X was almost a better controller than synth. However you'd of probably recognized it as being very similar looking to the AN1X if that was it. Maybe a Novatio...

Re: Any synths with keys like the yamaha cs-80?
MiniBrute can, but it is only mono with own sounds, supposedly can do poly if midied up but don't know if pressure sense vibrato on all keys if doing a chord like that, or if it would send those messages through midi which I'm not sure that would work like that either, I guess even if it did you'd a...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth
I talked to some Arturia reps a couple weeks ago while they were demoing one at my local GC, they couldn't believe I had one already since the stores here weren't even supposed to have any yet, which apparently is why I got a European instead of an american power plug for the adapter with mine... Bu...

Re: New Elektron box
Dare I say old chaps, the new Electron box sounds exquisite. I especially like how it spins and crackles with a turntable like effect. Positively analog indeed.
