Re: best 'choir' patches?

I don't know, but my RS7000 has a couple choir voices. I think if you prob put a lo-fi around 1.2 khz give a little tweek around that while you play effect plus talk modulation, beat all the above posts.

Re: Attack Pressure?

Yeah, they probably meant velocity sensitivity which responds to how hard you strike a key. Aftertouch is how much pressure you apply to the keys after the initial strike. From the AN1X manual: Channel Aftertouch Messages which let you control the sounds by the pressure you apply to the keys after t...

Thanks Don!

DesolationBlvd - I noticed the Oberheim logo, but why is pedobear with it :? Do hope you get your OB fixed, but your avatar is contradictory like a skittles commercial.

Re: OB-Xa tunes same four oscillators sharp

@Don T - I don't have a manual for my OB-SX :( Are they available anywhere for cheap?

@DesolationBlvd - Sorry to hear, I don't think I can be of any more help in regard to your synth, but did you know your avatar is pedobear?

Re: Nice cheap preamp for laptop recording?

Your synths should already be putting out an amped signal through the line or headphones out for recording to your computer. Mic amps are for mics, they are for boosting really low, unpowered signals, they'll make your already amped signal sound like shiz. You just need to go directly in to your rec...

Re: Arpeggiator vs. chord repeater?

The Maestro's arp is a bit strange. If I remember right it only plays 4 notes, first note doesn't arp by itself, every note after will play up to 4, those below the lowest wont register until you let up on one instead of dropping the earlier notes. The higher notes will kick in if you press it as a ...

Re: OB-Xa tunes same four oscillators sharp

They do make reverse drill bits with socket heads on them specifically for removing stripped screws and broken bolt heads. Don't let the stripped screw hold you up too long. I'm watching this thread to see if you find an answer too, I've a card that was bad in my OB-SX, I fixed it but I think since ...

Re: DSI Tempest's impressions?

A lot of intriguing infos there balma, thanks, makes me wish I could of spent more time with one, especially on the patch programming/voice editing which I didn't get much of a chance to check out. I got the feeling it is a machine that one could spend a lot of time with and get really attached to, ...

Re: DSI Tempest's impressions?

I got to use one first hand briefly so I'm far from knowledgeable about all of its capabilities. Anyhow my impression was it sounded awesome for making drums patterns and seemed the main idea or focus was on drum or percussive sounds, not so great at synth sounds or bulky, full, synth styles and pat...

Re: an1x questions

Been a while since I've been on my AN1X, but doesn't having the two scene memory buttons turned off keep the mod wheel from morphing between them? Or maybe turn the main matrix knob to bottom and press the control device rocker buttons to 1 which should be MW for mod wheel then the buttons right of ...

Re: an1x questions

They get caught in a wierd release state sometimes. I've had two that have done it. It seems to only happen sometimes on certain patches more for some reason. Don't always necessarly have to turn it off and on, sometimes switching banks and back will re-set it, but it seems to tend to come back on t...

Re: Bangs, booms, thunks, and thwacks

Ring-mod and FM for metalic sounds, and pitch envelopes along with the VCA EGs might be worth a study for percusive sounds. Noise comes in handy sometimes too, but I'm no expert so I can't tell you precisely what settings, just stuff you might also want to play around more with for those type of sou...

Re: MiniBrute vs CS-10/15

I've a MB and CS-15 so I know what I'm talking about here... not really, I don't know squat... What I do know is that with youtube vids you aren’t hearing how great and beautiful any synth can sound, especially in the upper frequencies. To me both these synths are fairly bright sounding with the CS-...
