*Nods head in agreement*

Prefuse would be sampled from mostly old jazz records into the MPC. After that, it's all about the programming, and, of course, that is where the real genius of Prefuse takes over.

I hear there's a vast amount of speculation, rumour, conjecture, and hearsay on the Elektron users forum :) So, if I'm understanding things correctly over on the EU forum, this MkII idea is all based on the fact that some guys who ordered Elektron gear from Soundcontrol in the UK have had the...

I love to share what I know and am always interested in learning new things, hence my motto: "what you give is what you get". I consider myself very lucky to have friends and acquaintances on all these forums as enamored with synths as I am. And if you guys find what I'm writing about useful or int...

Brian Eno probably did more work than anyone else (I know... Trent Reznor) on the VS, and what else do you need to know besides that? Eno's music (particularly the stuff that made heavy use of the VS) lives and dies by its sound design. You could find no higher recommendation for it. what did Eno u...

I tend to go with newer synths because of reliability, the fact they stay in tune, etc. There were days when I had a idea of all the vintage gear I wanted to buy, but over the last couple of years I have realized that a smaller setup just works better for me. I wouldn't really want to have a small s...

I have never had the opportunity to play a VS, but have long lusted for one. It is still high on my wishlist, and I'm sure at some point I will take the plunge. IMO, one only needs to look at the people who have sworn by the VS to realize what it is capable of. Brian Eno probably did more work than ...

Re: elektron machinedrum sps-1uw USERS

Totally killer. Damn! Nice work, Bigbag. Is that multiple patterns with one kit, or did you spin it out in song mode, or both? Thanks TT, it's 4 2 bar patterns put together in song mode, I'm really into using the adjustable start steps and lengths to string together bits and pieces of a number of p...

Re: elektron machinedrum sps-1uw USERS

I really, really like the UW, I'm glad I got it instead of the SPS-1, because it's filling an entirely different role in my workflow than a drum machine, e.g., http://ookpikk.googlepages.com/PC.mp3 is just UW Totally killer. Damn! Nice work, Bigbag. Is that multiple patterns with one kit, or did yo...

The MD-UW can hit just as hard as a 909. I have a bank of 909 samples in my UW, and i can get more out of the UW than i could when i had my 909, besides that i can make up new sounds from those samples so they become unrecognisable and not sound like the ubiquitous 909. f**k yeah! I've been waiting...

I always was a guitar player and singer, but totally dug different, kind of out there sounds. I never wanted just stock guitar sounds. Always lot of fx. That, I guess, inevitably led to drum machines and synths. Also, Kid A by Radiohead. That album flipped me out, and it was actually after that that...
