Re: New Elektron Machine
Got it in that one that the chromatic option is not implemented yet. I would imagine you'll have either one octave on the pads or you can set up which pitches you want where.

Re: Small Firms Are Making Big Bucks In The Analog Economy
Gentlemen, it's a fluff piece - it's more or less a soft prospectus for those who aren't necessarily interested in the market. It's quite well done for what it is; conjecture included. If you want more hard numbers, you'll have to do some research yourself, then extrapolate the relevant data from th...

Re: New stuff from Roland!
Warning...meta post. This is my favorite post from the GS thread (now on page 126)... "Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?" Wow. You have to read it a few times just to comprehend that it makes so sense whatsoever. HAHAHAHAHA WTF WTF is right!

Re: New Elektron Machine
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming the "Chromatic" button means you can play the pads chromatically, with one sound spread across them. In other words, one could play a bassline on the pads instead of having to twist the knobs to change the pitch of the instrument, correct? Yep, that'...

Re: New stuff from Roland!
Exactly. The first time I heard the JP80 I really was underwhelmed. Lame acoustic emulations as far as I was concerned, even though the fact that you could get a breathy growl from a trumpet that sounded "real." It wasn't until I heard someone dig deep into it and program it ala a "synth (JP sounds ...

Re: New stuff from Roland!
Yes, the sound is that matters. But VA means that it will be cheaper and that's good news for me. Got it. I'm just doing my best to be positive about this. I'm used to being on the fence about Roland these days, but am hoping this one is a true winner. I actually like the Gaia and the JP-80, but at...

Re: New stuff from Roland!
I'd like to actually hear and play the thing before I worry too much about its sound engine. If they got it right, I don't care what's under the hood. If they don't, then it doesn't matter.

Re: New stuff from Roland!
I know that when Roland was at Sweetwater to demo the new FA series, they were un characteristically tight-lipped about the Aira. I was told the only comment said in passing was that they were quite upset about the leaks online. My Roland guy - who is usually pretty good about letting me know someth...

Saw this earlier today, but just watched the Sonic State video. This looks really useful and cool.
