Arturia Minibrute as MIDI Controller Keyboard

Does anyone use theirs for this? Do you need a computer connection to switch channels, etc.? I looked for info but so far haven't found that!

I have their analog factory and all channel switching has to be done via their set up software - it looks like this may be the same.

Re: Deadmau5 buys a Fairlight CMI

Yeah - I like the helmet. That's fun. I know it's been told to me before, but EDM = Electronic Dance Music, right? Or is there some other genre name? I can't keep up with this stuff! Clubbed recommended some stuff to me ages ago, but I can't recall what it was now. Stabber's last two records are rea...

Don't know Dave Guetta. Guess I'd better look him up?

Re: Deadmau5 buys a Fairlight CMI

Nah - you're in the same boat as I am. About a year ago (maybe?) he was discussed on here and a few things were recommended to me. I've got one of his records (can't recall the title) and it's OK. I can see how it's popular, but it's not something I'd search out again. Bit can give you some recommen...

$329 and the first week of April is what I'm told.

May have to wail 'til May for me, though - taxes are due ... :(

Re: does any synth sound better to your ears than an Omega 8

A couple of things: why the Omega 8? Because of this Joey D? Any other influences? What's your budget?

Also, don't use a cab for live use: run your rig through your mains and get a smaller combo (specific keyboard amp or mixer + powered PA speaker) for keyboard monitoring.

Re: Kavinsky says, "No analog gear"

It's just neat to see what gear people are using and the fact that he uses something so ubiquitous is surprising to me. there I fixed it for you. (when Barqs was just a regional beverage and they insisted they were NOT root beer, one of their ad campaigns was "Barqs, it's ubiquitous".) Ha! Mis-spel...

Re: Kavinsky says, "No analog gear"

Is it even really that big of a deal? Maybe he doesn't want people thinking that he needs certain gear to make good sounds. Its all about the person playing the synth, and he is proving it. What better synth for him to show that than a microkorg. Oh no, not a big deal at all. I'm old enough to reme...

Yeah, I guess it's been that way for years, but to see someone of his stature with one is just ... neat? Funny? Odd? Not expected by me, I guess.

Yep - on their site it states "iMini requires at least an iPAD 2 and OS 6.0 or later." and in the iStore, "iMini is compatible with iPAD 2, iPAD 3 and IPAD Mini." I'm a little hesitant as it could be rather small.
