Name the synth
People seem to love these kind of quizzes so I thought I'd throw one together. Only effect added was a tad of reverb.

Re: Oberheim OB-X or OB-8??
I'm sorry, but as someone who has had all three, I would never say the OB-X and 8 sound almost the same. Not even close to my ears. The Xa and the 8 are a lot closer both being curtis chip machines, but the X is very different sounding. The X is closer to the four/ eight voice SEM synths.

The sound is great, but it is sort of a few tricks pony. I honestly would pick one up over a Juno if only because if you find one it could be years before you find another one. They excel in string synth areas. Think of it as a string synth with a small mono synth section. It does sound rather uniqu...

Re: Minimoog from ebay..weird OSC problems?
Key contacts. USUALLY if you play with it some these tend to work themselves out, if not they can be cleaned.

Re: Farfisa Synthorchestra do want
I had a metal one. I sold it after a while and then my band mate bought a wood one. He still has it. They are fun, but not terribly versatile. The one in the video is quite heavily processed by the sounds of it. When the do come up they tend to not go for very much. Mine was sold for $400 I believe....

Re: Where can I get new bushings for ARP Odyssey?
I have tried a couple of different suppliers for Pratt-Read bushings, and I would agree with the arcsound bushings being the way to go. A little bit more expensive that some others, but they are pre-lubricated and will last much longer. Agreed. Pre-lubricated is the way to go. You will not believe ...

You probably won't find too many modular mods because of it's polyphonic nature.

Re: Sands Of Time, a Fairlight song
The Fairlight is far from just being a sampler. It's a digital synth first and foremost.
