I've owned both and I don't think they are much alike myself. I still have the M12.

In my opinion, that's a good price if it came with a 3620 keyboard. If you buy one from the US you could get cheaper (that's about $6000 usd, which is way too much for a 2600) so come to think of it, that might be too much.

It really is like a Polyphonic MS-20. Only downside is that the filter does not self resonate. Although I guess on a synth like this it really doesn't bother me. I have a MS-20 and MS-50 for that :)

Those are the big differences...

I was actually able to use the AKS in a very melodic way. I got some nice melodies. It's not the easiest thing to work with though...

Pretty much. Anything that can be controlled by CV you can assign to the joystick. My Korg PS-3010 keyboard has the same thing.

But they're paraphonic, so they don't count ;).
Although, there are 48 filters and envelopes... Basically a synth circuit per key. I really don't care. I can play 48 keys at a time. :)

Did they ever make one when they started their business?

It's the same as asking for Korg's legendary 6- or 8-voice polysynth.
Or their 48 voice polysynth's the PS-3xxx :)

You mean modulation matrix?

It's usually just a large menu of modulation possibilities. (I put that into it's simplest explanation)

I guess you could say I'm a purist in that I don't think guitars and synths should mix on the same instrument. There is no synth features on this except for a filter. I've never liked the Roland GR-synths, and frankly I think the Avatar deserved to fail (they chose to release that instead of the wa...
