No, SI was developed in the 1950s or somewhere around that time. Just a wee bit later...

You're getting confused with Decimal Time. The metric system did not include time units on it's original introduction in France.

I've got a brick wall you can borrow, Stab. Slightly worn, but still serviceable.

My Usual Suspects are: Evolver - Bass, aggressive analogue, drones. KS4 - Pads, EPs, modern VA sounds. S3000XL - Percussion, general sampling duties. D-10 - Horror film ambiances. X7000 - Gritty, textured sampling. ASM-2 - Bass, "modular sounds", drones, signal processing. R-5 - Instant drum fix wit...

I thought 1925-1948 was 'veteran', then 1948-somethingorrather was 'classic'.

Which remind me, I haven't been to the All British Day in years.

I was going to build one of these after finishing the ASM-2, but never got around to it. A single-chip digital synth would be the perfect next project after a component-clad analogue modular!

Vintagesynth,

I've just sent in a design, but I'm having trouble with my email at home, so could you just confirm whether you got it or not?

(I'd send a PM, but they've been flaky of late)

Thanks!

Edit: Whoops, forgot to put the web address on there! Time to make some modifications...

I don't think I've yet had a bad synth. The EA-1 I sold because it just never seemed to sit right in my sort of music, and the S2000 I only sold because I got an S3000XL. I thought the D-10 was bad at first, until I stopped trying to make it do things it simply wasn't going to do, and focussed on it...

They say in the flash 'for the price of a scooter' :D
Given Access's pricing, i'm assuming they mean a fully restored vintage Lambretta.

The front panel is completely different from the TI Polar. The colour scheme is the only similarity there.

I doubt it. They already cut down heavily on the functionality from the Evolvers in order to be able to make an 8-voice polysynth feasible at that pricepoint. The fact that it's pretty much a straight-up analogue poly with a decent polyphony is it's main selling point. Take out the features, and it ...

Actually, now I think about it, the S3000 family also exhibit a slight aliasing noise as cutoff is lowered, though not anywhere near the same amount. I remember getting it on a "30's Tape Piano" patch I made.

Shame that filter's nowhere near as interesting though.

I'd still be surprised if it was anything more than an announcement though. A small company like DSI couldn't afford to sink time and money into a rackmount design without first knowing if the base unit was going to be successful or not.

But I could be wrong, of course. I tempt thee, perversity!
