I'm still waiting for the Yamaha AN2x!!
A keyboard version of the AN200 and DX200 perhaps? But really, do we need anything new?

Re: Digital Native Dance
Thanks for the answer. I've just found a sample I had lying around of that sound for my S3200XL.

Is there a JD990 equivalent of the sound? I'd love to know.

Re: Was the Roland D50 the first VA Modelling Synth?
D-collector, I would probably agree with you that the D50 is very dull and cold. When I had mine, I tried programming it with the optional PG1000, which is essential when programming. I gave up in the end because the samples were small and the effect section was a little premature and noisy. Althoug...

Re: Was the Roland D50 the first VA Modelling Synth?
The Roland D50 is definitely NOT a VA, it is S+S synthesis.

Re: What is a "Slip In/Slip Out" battery holder?
When I do change the battery, do I need to back up the original factory sounds or will they be in ROM?

What is a "Slip In/Slip Out" battery holder?
I need the battery changing on my Yamaha AN1x. I did some research on the 'net and found that the AN1x has a "Slip In/Slip Out" battery holder. Does this mean you can just dis-lodge the battery and put a new one in? If so, I would imagine it can be done easily, can't it?

Re: My new album - "So Good" is now available on iTunes.
As mentioned before, my album is available on iTunes. To find my new album on iTunes - log onto Apple - iPod + iTunes, type in "Duncan J. White" where it says search and press return. Click on "See All Results In iTunes". When loaded, click on "See All". Search for the album entitled "So Good". It i...

Re: Playing with my JD990
Hi gd
I use the drums from the Roland SH32 plus maybe the EMU XL1 Turbo on all my demos. But when we mix it at my friends studio, because the SH32 is only stereo, we replace the drums with either the Fantom X6, the Yamaha MO6 or we use a VST drum machine to get a wider mix.

Re: Roland SH01
Yes I agree - but if you can program it well and take your time, then any synth can sound amazing, even with some of the old synths from the eighties.Doooooooom wrote:I mean lets face it, these days just about every instrument sounds good, it's not hard to achieve.

Playing with my JD990
I've just had a session exploring the sounds my Roland JD for possible use for future tracks. I thought the internal and preset sounds are nice. BUT then, I decided to explore the Vintage board that I've got fitted and I was nearly blown away  There are oodles of fantastic pads, brasses, lead...

There's nothing stopping people buying and downloading individual tracks though.

Fantastic work. That takes me back a bit. Ahh, the eighties.
