Re: Synth n00b desperate for help..again.

Thanks for the advice guys, very helpful stuff....I think I've narrowed it down to the Yamaha EX-5, Yamaha CS2x, Yamaha CS6x, Roland XP-30, or the Roland Juno D. I really like the CS2x based on demos that I've watched, it's got everything I need, and I think it's probably the cheapest of the ones I ...

Re: Roland Juno D vs. Korg X50

Thanks Ashe....yeah, I would prefer the 61-key keyboard, as I'm a better piano player than synth player...i've got a microkorg and novation xiosynth that I mess around with, but haven't completely mastered the knobs or the art of synth playing in general. My budget just took a huge hit with a trip t...

Roland Juno D vs. Korg X50

Synth n00b here thinking about purchasing one of these two romplers. They are both in my price range and have a ton of presets, which is what I'm looking for. Though I do want some acoustic sounds (piano, organ, etc.), I want more...how do I say...ambient/weird/meditative/dark/strange/echoe type sou...

Re: Synth n00b - PLEASE HELP (drone/shoegaze/minimalist)

Thanks for the advice friends...I think my main problem is that I just don't know how to properly play a synth. Maybe I'll just stick with the MicroKorg and XioSynth for a while longer and experiment more with the knobs.

Synth n00b - PLEASE HELP (drone/shoegaze/minimalist)

I have been in a drone/minimalist/shoegaze/folk project for the past few months, and am looking to purchase a reasonably priced synth ($400.00-$700.00)....I am a pretty experienced piano player, but when it comes to playing synth, I just use the preset patches and twist a bunch of knobs to make cool...
