Re: Cs6x or EX7?

Thanks gordwiebe. After much research last night, I think I will save the extra cash for the EX5 if I decide to go that route. However, I have come across both a Korg Triton Extreme 61 keys and a Roland Fantom X7 for $600.00 each (Both in very good condition)...based on what these two are going for ...

Re: Cs6x or EX7?

Thanks for the reply, GameChanger. I'm actually in the process of selling my XioSynth along with other odds and ends to save up for the EX7. (Poor college student, here) But I should have the funds by the early part of January...so if you still haven't sold your EX7 by then, then I will definitely s...

Re: Cs6x or EX7?

Thanks for the input, balma. The complexity of the EX7 has been one of my initial worries, but I plan on sticking with whatever I get for awhile. Acoustic sounds are indeed important for me too, as I'm more of a piano player than synth player...so perhaps the EX7 would be my best bet in that sense (...

Cs6x or EX7?

For an experimental/noise/folk project, so I'd like plenty of strange/spacey pads...but also need piano for solo gigs. Only been playing for a little over a year (Microkorg and Xiosynth25), so I'm very much a beginner. I've narrowed it down to the Yamaha Cs6x and the EX7...both in my price range of ...

Re: Best 15-20 watt amp for Synth?

Probably should have mentioned that I jam mostly with my buddies (one of whom plays the guitar and the other who plays synth) in an experimental/minimal/drone project where I mostly use synth sounds. But I want to start doing solo piano gigs in addition, as I am a much better piano player than synth...

Synth Documentaries

I'm sure most of you have seen this, but for those who haven't, a fun and interesting doc on the rise of the synthesizer in 70's Britain. Synth Britannia

Re: Synth n00b desperate for help..again.

Wow, I really appreciate the replies and input from you guys and gals...very helpful stuff, and I seriously would like to donate something to this site once I'm a bit more financially stable. I think I have it narrowed down to the Yamaha cs6x and the Kawai K5000W though I'm sure I'll have my mind se...

Re: Synth n00b desperate for help..again.

Nice, I didn't even know the Korg PS60 had been released...demo videos look pretty cool; looks a lot like the microStation with big keys. I wonder how the synth sounds are? I'll have to check out Guitar Center this weekend and take a look. Thanks for the tip, Hair

Re: Synth n00b desperate for help..again.

Wow, I'm really tempted to bid on this fine machine...my only concern is that it may be a bit complex for me? The preset sounds that I heard were awesome though. And the knobs...ohhhh the sweet, sweet knobs. And does it for sure have a piano sound?

Re: Synth n00b desperate for help..again.

K5000W...very nice, some spacey sounds coming out of that board...I'm very much digging what I've heard so far. What are the main differences between the K5000W and the K5000S?

Re: Synth n00b desperate for help..again.

The thing is, I'm looking for something newer in order to avoid possible repairs/ebay scammers. Also, something pretty simple/straightforward that a newb like myself could pull out of the box and start playing...I don't really intend on using any computer software or anything like that (mainly becau...
